me too... certainly no lower than 1/3rd tank if its avoidable. you dont want to be sucking up any crap, and if its close to empty just filling it up causes the sediment to move about. not an issue in new car but it does build up. also it costs a lot to fill an empty tank

Yup, those are also valid reasons why I never allow the tank to run down.

Really? It's like the back of beyond up there, innit?

All the majors are within 10 mins drive from my front door, the nearest being Gulf, which I could walk to in 10 mins. Then there are two big Shell stations, Esso and BP, and of course Texaco, plus all the supermarket shite.

I know some folk say there's no difference - yes maybe with 'normal' cars, but not with performance ones. I can feel the difference almost straight away if I put any kind of supermarket fuel in the Brabster.

There is a difference, who's saying there isn't? Like you say though you're not going to get the benefit in a Daihatsu Charade.

think there is a bp.. not sure if any other are still going tho. i just use ron 95; it is recommended by toyota so is fine by me. for standard unleaded there isnt much difference tbh.. they all have to conform to the same standards.. only difference is friction modifiers and detergents added.
Diesel is a little different, and obviously performance cars will benefit more
