After a few miles at high speed on the Autobahn, the sensation of speed would be quickly fading, and then it's just a case of seeing how big a number you can get on the speedo (for bragging rights). Followed by some concern about how quickly the fuel gauge is moving.
For serious fun, the Nurburgring would be the place to go. That has to be a 'must' for any visiting petrol head Marco, you should give it a shot next time you're driving over there, it wouldn't be much out of your way. And then report back with a review of the new tyres, and whether they helped you beat Sabine Schmidt's Transit van lap time

I gave up at just shy of 160mph, as I had 3 passengers in the car [yes, I know, but apart from Del, they were diehard 'petrolheads', one a seasoned biker], and so didn't want to tempt fate with a blowout or something, but there was still a little more to come. The wind resistance at that speed is considerable.

I'd give it a good go, though... But yes, I fully intend to try the Brabster on a track before I sell it on, and Nürburgring would certainly be fun. Del's relatives live in and around Cologne, so wonder how far away it is from there?

The fastest I've ever driven was 105mph. It was very late at night on a motorway which I had to myself.
I only did it to see what it was like: didn't do it for too long as I felt both the car and myself would be more comfortable at a lower speed. That said I often drive at 90 - 95 on a motorway if conditions permit, though I find 85mph is the natural speed for me, again conditions permitting.

It depends on the car you're driving, In the Brabster, I can reach a ton without even trying, and pretty quickly/effortlessly, but most importantly safely - as it has the brakes, tyres, suspension and everything else, to handle high speeds with ease. If it were legal, and the road conditions were right, the car could cruise at a ton all day long, and you wouldn't even know.
That would be the same really with any decent 3-litre+ engine car. That's why I like driving cars with big engines, as everything feels so effortless, but which are sadly being phased out.
