If I found myself in conversation with such a person I would be referring to everyone else in the third person plural - it would confuse "them" no end, and hopefully they would then realise they are just being a dick.

Interesting indeed - thanks for this thread Paul, it's got me a little bit hooked! About time we had something that's not all doom and gloom

You fail the test it's six ferulas and a Saturday morning detention - that's 3 hours of litter picking and trimming the grass verges with nail scissors.

Then you have to take it again.

You can laugh but it's already law in Canada https://www.cbc.ca/cbcdocspov/featur...c-16-explained

''If someone refused to use a preferred pronoun — and it was determined to constitute discrimination or harassment — could that potentially result in jail time?

It is possible, Brown says, through a process that would start with a complaint and progress to a proceeding before a human rights tribunal. If the tribunal rules that harassment or discrimination took place, there would typically be an order for monetary and non-monetary remedies. A non-monetary remedy may include sensitivity training, issuing an apology, or even a publication ban, he says''

I've no idea what 'sensitivity training' might entail but then it's been a while since I last read '1984'. I'm guessing the people who think these laws are a good idea have never read it.
