On the left is an old Chianti wine bottle, which she stripped of its labels and put some 'spangly' lights inside. Looks quite effective I think!

Everything there, apart from the lights, was from bits just lying in our garden. and she also made the pompoms. Makes the kitchen look nice and cosy and Christmassy!

    Love it!!

Also it reminds me, I have three elegant bottles that need some of those spangly lights. Must go shopping...

And I can see that Del got her inspiration for the pom poms from the BBC's computer graphics of the Coronavirus. Very topical!

Cool display - is that an old penny; any particular significance? (ready for throwing at a passing ragamuffin as payment for a turkey perhaps )

I am also interested in source of those "bottle lights"

Love it! I think the inspiration came from something she seen in one of her favourite TV programmes at this time of year: https://www.channel4.com/programmes/...made-christmas

But yes, you're right much better than some of the crap you get in the shops, but most importantly for Del (as she's a major greeny), it's all made from stuff we had, recyclable and environmentally friendly

Lol... I found the old penny in the garden and cleaned it up. We treat it as a lucky charm

I'll ask Del where she got the lights from.

Mrs B also bought some of these lights with the bottle stopper, they're USB rechargeable and we repurposed some unusual gin bottles as lamps.
One of these days... I'm going to cut you into little pieces.

    Cool...

Got a nice day ahead - now that we're allowed back into England, I'm taking my dad out for lunch to one of our favourite pubs, where we'll be able to enjoy a nice pint of real ale before the Welsh alcohol ban is put in place later!

Highly recommended for anyone coming to the city: https://www.telfordswarehousechester.com/

Then off to Tanners, to collect a case of this year's Beaujolais Nouveau, plus what other nice bits we fancy: https://www.google.com/maps/uv?pb=!1...oiowCnoECBcQAw

Looking forward to it, as we haven't been to Chester in ages!
