He should certainly know what is meant by the regulators (choice of Murata or Dexa) and op-amp coupling caps (choice of Rubycon or Nichicon). The other caps are simply all the electrolytics replaced with Elna Silmic types.

It probably does make sense to have it all done at once. You are going to be amazed at the sound quality improvement in a single jump like that.
so regulators, coupling caps and electolyics to be replaced..

Is there anything else worth doing after that then?

Its worth getting it all done at once because secure delivery (which Tirna insist on) is about £17 both ways. Jimmy at Tirna prefers a chat to an e-mail and often doesn't respond if you post an email message.

    Useful Info for someone?
For the latest mods (Elna Silmic II cap replacements)

    There was a question HERE:
    http://theartofsound.net/forum/showt...t=4580&page=37 (post 363)

about an extra Cap of 4.7uf 50V which wasnt on the list.
James (Carson) who did the mods originally bought the wrong rating (47uf not 4.7) and that set me looking for the correct one to add to my component order.

Wierd thing is, on the list of Silmic II caps on Hificollectives website, there ISN'T one rated 4.7uf.
    http://www.hificollective.co.uk/comp...apacitors.html

My Google-fu is strong however and it turns out there is a 4.7uf Elna cap.
If you look at the order code in the table on that link, theres ELNAS-015, 025, 035....but no 30?

Turns out there is no Silmic II 4.7uf 50V caps, but after a chat with Nick from Hificollective there is a couple of other Elna caps in that rating, but aren't Silmic II's.

Two choices; Elna Axial or Elna Cerafine.
The Cerafine is more expensive AND is the one Nick recommends as the next step down from the Silmic IIs.
Maybe not as good, but not much in it Nick said.

    So,
for anyone wanting to order the extra cap for the mods (and why not really?) the Order code from Hificollective is ELNAC-030

I swear i bought that extra 4.7uF cap of the same model and make from hi-fi collective a little while back. Maybe I ordered the wrong one again or forgot I bought another model from the Elna.

I shall have to scrounge around in my extensive parts bins and see what it was.

That's not entirely correct, although a little trickier to get hold of. In fact I'm looking at one in front of me now, purchased from Parts Connexion,

    ELNA-72734: 4.7uF / 50V, RFS Series, 5x11mm
    http://www.partsconnexion.com/capaci..._elna_rfs.html

Still waiting for the Murata's to arrive...

So, for mine and Simon's (ashmore) benefit

rubicon coupling caps (that jimmy is sourcing)
murata regulators (that jimmy is sourcing)

then we need to find a way of getting these electrlitic whatsawhosits ... Which it seems the best option is still open to debate?

Is that the lot? Nothing else? No other worthwhile things to mod?

In which case can we have some layman's terms advice on what and how to get these electrolitic things please - asuming jimmy isn't also sourceing them?
