It's cool. Reminds me of Reg Varney. He was the first person to ever use an ATM.

Got the dvd box set of on the buses including the 2 films.

Always amused me that 2 blokes probably in their 50s were hitting on the 'clippies' who were less than half their age & 'Jack' was ugly as sin anyway.

That did use to confuse me as a youngster. Varney was 53 when 'On The Buses' started. I think I concluded that the clippies just had no other options.

I note that the major supermarkets no longer have long waiting times for home deliveries, they have obviously geared up to improve their service. Delivery slots were extremely hard to find when the pandemic hit and lockdown was introduced. Waits for deliveries could be a month, if you could even find one to book. Now it's 'same day' or a day or two at most. You may have noticed the distinct increase in the number of Asda, Tesco, Iceland and Sainsbury's etc., vans on the roads.

Now this leads me to think that many people will have got used to having their 'main shop' delivered and may well continue doing so. I predict this will result in supermarkets wanting to cut down on retail floorspace and numbers of outlets due to reduced demand. I anticipate bigger branches selling part or whole sites before long. Bet I'm right, changing trends in selling cause rapid reactions.

Possibly, Geoff. I think your last sentence is spot on, but I'm not sure how much it will apply to supermarkets. High-street shops, defo, and it will also apply to changes in the working environment, especially folks in offices, where I expect many will now move to working from home, if the nature of their job allows.

In terms of supermarkets though, I have noticed that things are markedly quieter in stores than they were pre-pandemic, which 'Covid secure' pish aside, has made for a much more relaxing environment, and consequently more pleasurable shopping experience, not having to mingle as much with the great unwashed!

So the more of them who park their lazy, corpulent arses at home in future, and have their shopping delivered, the better it'll be for me!!

I had a delivery from Iceland on Saturday and that was a disaster, only half the order actually being found onboard by the driver. Apparently, the dispatch labelling was cocked up! Conversely, Tesco as usual, did just fine on Sunday, with no problems. I'd placed two orders as my family came to stay at short notice.

I now need a few more bits for the coming weekend. Think I'll try Sainsbury's, not tried them before, they have good customer feedback.

At least when you do your own shopping, you're in control of the whole process, so any mistakes made are entirely of your own making

I reckon that now people are again able to get their hair done, many will resume going out and doing their own shopping. Where up to now they've been too embarrassed by their 'lockdown hair' - Marco, you know what I'm talking about - I would never have left the house with it looking like that
