Well the skip which I ordered ten days ago finally arrived yesterday, and it is already half full from all the crap accumulating under the car port. Normally I take about 4-5 weeks to fill an eight-yarder, after which I just call the skip hire people and they bring a replacement. This is ongoing, and costs £210 each time. The hire is really for 3 weeks but they are quite lax about it. I know all that is set to change.
The price has increased to £225, and I just know they be coming for it in 20 days, filled or not. They are "experiencing unprecedented demand" right now, thanks to that shower of shits we call Lancashire County Council. No doubt it's similar everywhere else.
The council tips will only accept waste (which has to be specified) on an appointment basis. Our earliest "slot" is 29th June. I don't get why their workers should be a special case - social distancing shouldn't be an issue, as the tip staff keep away from you anyway, standing just close enough for you to read the "Here to Help" slogan on their hi-viz vests.And if you can buy crap legally now at a car boot sale, how is getting rid of it any riskier?
