Whilst the 75th anniversary of VE day is well worth celebrating - the cynic in me wonders if Government want to use it to encourage the "war spirit", such as the social restraints, restrictions and deprivations the UK public suffered during WW2, to justify the current social conditions they have imposed on us.

I think we should also have bank holiday in June to celebrate Waterloo and one in October for Trafalgar. In fact make the October 2 days and we'll celebrate 2nd El Alamein too.

And imposed upon us for very good reasons.

Yes, but as we're out of the peak now, and with considerably reduced hospital admissions for CV, it's time for a little less 'imposing' and some sensible easing of the restrictions, so we can get the economy moving and back to some semblance of normality. Also less bloody procrastinating about the proposed 'exit plan'!

Never mind this: 'we know what we'll be doing, but we'll tell you later' shite. Spit it out, FFS, and get on with it!!

Other countries in Europe in a similar position to us have started to slowly implement a phased return [the key words] from lockdown, to some semblance of normality, and get the economy moving again [further key words] - and so should we, via following a clear plan as to how that should be done, laid out by the government, instead of having to listen to largely empty bluster and procrastination from them!

*That* is my point, and also crucially to avoid creating a true economic disaster. We can't continue living under what is effectively 'house arrest', and being prisoners in our homes, out of fear of this virus. We have to LEARN how to LIVE WITH IT (as it's going nowhere soon), as SAFELY as POSSIBLE, and take steps towards once again being able to enjoy LIFE in a FREE COUNTRY.
