The Logitech Touch Experience

I thought it might be a good idea to create a new thread after the negativity surrounding the pre-release.

Yes they do,for a couple of seconds,and the Touch says it is buffering.It's fine if I just let the album play,but pauses if I skip tracks.
I have to say how good I find these hi-rez files though.My first impression was how vinyl-like they sound,very like I remember Marco's Techie sounding at Owston when I heard it the first time (though I remember thinking at the time how cd-like the techie sounded!) The glare that is present in a lot of cd recordings is totally absent,and the very revealing statics readily show how much better these are than red book standard.There is a sense of ease about the sound like you get from a good vinyl deck,and resolution is amazing.The only downside is the size of the files,about 1.4 Gb per album,and that's a FLAC compressed file!

Many turntables (mostly of the low-mass belt-drive variety) sound tubby and coloured as hell... The Techie avoids the cloggy euphony many (wrongly in my view) deem as the recognised 'signature of analogue', by presenting a more accurate portrayal of the information that is actually on records.
Although how my Techie sounds these days is markedly different (way better) compared to when you first heard it at Owston.
Anyway, chaps, my apologies for the rather rude interruption - as you were!

Turntable: Heavily-modified Technics SL-1210MK5G [Mike New bearing/ETP platter/Paul Hynes SR7 PSU & regulator mods]. Funk Firm APM Achromat with Nagaoka GL-601 Crystal Record Weight. Isonoe feet & boots. Ortofon RS-212D tonearm with Denon DL-103GL, in a Denon PCL-300 headshell, fitted with Funk Firm Houdini and Kondo SL-115 pure-silver cartridge leads.

Tape Deck: Tandberg TCD 310, fully restored and recalibrated as new by RDE, plus upgraded with heads from the TCD-420a. Also with matching TM4 Norway microphones.
Preamps: Heavily-modified Croft Charisma-X. Power Amps: Tube Distinctions Copper Amp, fitted with Tungsol KT-150s. Quad 306.
Cables & Sundries: Mark Grant HDX1 interconnects and digital coaxial cable, plus Mark Grant 6mm UP-LCOFC Van Damme speaker cable. MCRU 'Ultimate' mains leads. Lehmann clone headphone amp with vintage Koss PRO-4AAA headphones.
Tube Distinctions digital noise filter. VPI HW16.5 record cleaning machine.
Speakers: Tannoy 15MGs in Lockwood cabinets with modified crossovers. 1967 Celestion Ditton 15.

The development team at Logitech will be burning lots of midnight oil working out how to get TinySC to handle 24/96 files without stuttering.
This does indicate that SOX resampling is not going to be possible on TinySC - I have a couple of 24/192 albums in my library, and SBS handles the downsampling to 24/48 for my SB3 just fine.
Not that there are many 24/192 albums out there.
