Sadly Garfield, as he was named, was hit by a car around 9.15pm this evening, and died pretty well instantly.
I'm just thankful that he literally didn't know what hit him.

That really saddens me, Chris, as Garfield looks so much like the Leo, the ginger tom cat we lost just after Christmas (he went out then and hasn't come home since).
Anyway, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. We seem to be doing well this year so far with pets belonging to people here being killed in accidents.... Let's hope that trend stops now
