Like you Marco I continue to use a 1.5G phone for calls and the occasional texts (occasional, because the phone does not have a QWERTY keyboard). It has a built in camera, which I have used only once to show a glazier the type of glass I wanted replaced, but don't know how to download any subsequent photos to my computer.

Like you I find predictive texting exasperating and always have it switched off.

Having said that my partner has a 3G (or it might be a 4G) phone, and I am impressed by the easy access to the internet, Google, eBay, Amazon etc. that these devices can achieve. Google maps is quite useful if you are on foot in an unfamiliar place. And the predictive text function on her phone makes passive suggestions; you have to click on them if that is what you want - very useful if you are texting in a foreign language.

Yup, it's a lifestyle choice, Barry. You do whatever suits yours best.

For various reasons, I'm pretty focussed on not allowing my life to revolve around a mobile phone, or indeed the Internet. I'm quite happy to be occasionally 'off-grid', especially on holiday. And I don't do ANY form of social media, so that's a non-starter. Del's different, and she's on various things like that, and texts her friends and family all the time.

Mine know that if they want to get hold of me, it's strictly by landline phone or email

Not for me, mate. I can post them in seconds, via my lappy. Doesn't need to be any quicker

No worries... I didn't use PB in the first place, so had no problems. I've been with Imageshack for years, and *never* had any issues. It's about what works best for you

Had a imageshack account for many years too. Costs very little as I pay in dollars. for some reason my PayPal account thinks I'm american.
I did have a photo bucket free account but only used it for unimportant stuff.
Tapatalk is a host too tho. I use it more than anything as it's so handy.

Same here. Unlike others, I'm not solely focussed on image-hosting being done for free. I don't mind paying a small amount for a decent and reliable, ad-free service, which Imageshack has been for me since day one of using the Internet

Just started trying Tapatalk again after not really getting on with it years ago - works quite well on iPad but I agree, mobiles are too fiddly for forums especially with my sausage fingers!

Hence one of my big problems with mobiles, and the lack of a 'hardwired', and in general much more reliable phone connection, especially in the event of an emergency!

...and phones that need continuing charging. Therefore, for me, at home mobile phones should only be *back-up* for a proper landline.
