Hi Tim, I've just ordered from Rave for the first time and bought three coffees from them.
I tried Columbia Suarez Project first. It was just ok and I was hoping for more; can't especially recommend it for fans of Columbian, which I normally love.
I'm now on Signature Blend - very decent every day blend, easy drinking.
Next up is Brazil Sao Marco - Brazilian is normally my favourite coffee ...

I'm drinking Colombian Suarez beans at the moment Jules (as in right now!), but from a different roaster and like it. It is a lot more delicate than a supermarket Columbian like Tesco Supremo, which is still my favourite supermarket coffee - but only as the whole bean, the ground version isn't that good. I wonder if it's the different roaster for Suarez, how are you drinking it?
I think my next purchase isn't going to be Rave now, but Foundry Coffee Roasters - they have a Columbian I'm keen to try. The Columbian Suarez project as a pour over is rather good IMO, especially as it cools and the layers of flavour come through. Works amazingly well with a tarka dhal. Let us know what the Brazilian Sao Marco is like too - that could be interesting?
I had a really enjoyable first visit to Quantum Coffee in Cardiff Bay yesterday. Run by a couple who are clearly very passionate about coffee and Dimitri roasts on the premises. Had a delicious Cuban Alturo Lavado pour over and he was telling me Cuban beans in Europe are not that common as there isn't too much exported out. It was great chatting to him about coffee and pour overs etc., a tad different to going to Starbucks. Although I hear they've just opened a fancy Starbucks in Covent Garden, but I'd still choose to go to places like Quantum any day of the week.
I'm just waiting for Marco to pop along now and tell me what's wrong with pour overs
Some people have no idea what they're doing and a lot of them are really good at it.

I'm using an Aeropress now which I've had for just a few weeks and very much enjoying it. I've not stepped up to grinding my own beans just yet so buying specially ground coffee for Aeropress.
My mission at the moment is to find the 'perfect' Columbian and Brazilian coffee for my taste. After I've tried the Rave Brazilian I'll try somewhere different for my next batch but not sure where just yet!
