I was lucky with the Yaqin, though, because I got to hear it in my system before buying it, as Ian Walker had already bought one himself. Therefore there was no real risk.

I can say categorically that I would not have ordered one had I not heard Ian's first!

One thing this shows is the superb quality of products, particularly valve amps, coming out of China now at frankly ridiculous prices - witness the Mr Liang, Yaqin, and Puresound (in its original form).

UK manufacturers - be afraid, be very afraid...
