The Francescatti Sibelius violin concerto surprised me by its excellence.
The Stokowski 1st symphony was a big letdown, though - Ol' Stokie is not in his element here.
The Rossini sound quality is kind of forced, squally and unpleasant, as is some of the solo singing!
But the Verdi Requiem is very nice indeed - including a magnificently recorded bass drum! ... WHOOOM !!
