As someone once said 'For every complex problem, there's an answer that's simple, straightforward, and wrong'. It've very easy to pontificate in a TV studio about 'what needs to be done', but most political problems are inherently complicated, and require a more measured approach than Widdecombe's blunderbuss. Whenever I've read her opinions about anything I've disagreed with them. There's no merit in being 'passionate' if you're on the wrong side of the debate.
