The "widebands" (100Hz to 8kHz) are wired in series with padding/balancing resistors. The speakers are around a 14 ohm load.

There's only one tweeter per channel, I needed an extra horn to be able fit the swiveling experiment.

My room isn't the best for bass room modes. Here's how how the room measures with no DSP on the bass:

The peaks and troughs caused a significant imbalance, some notes overblown, others totally missing.

Here's the console I use to set the DSP:

Here's the in-room measured result:

This fixes the room really rather well! Decay could be better still so there's more work to do.

My listening room/study is in the cellar, we have 3 floors above the cellar - something that amuses me is that my teenage kids sometimes complain about the music and they're on the top floor!!! When this happens it's usually because of

My Bastanis Atlas open baffle speakers have finally been re-housed in some better wood. This was a joint project with Vic of Trans-Fi fame, the wood was CNC cut then lacquered. I've christened them 88s, my son calls them 2 Fat Ladies after the bingo call. Actually I'd prefer slightly bigger hips but I'm straying from hi-fi....

Hi Marco,

The improved looks make the system sound much better...to be serious, pride in design and assembly is a factor. The sound is different from when you and Ian came round. Greater clarity overall and there is greatest improvement at both frequency extremes. The 301 was holding back the sound quite considerably, although it still sounds great. The Salvation deck is great and it's nearly ready for production. I have various prototype electronics hooked up to it, not just for speed control but bearing heating too. The bearing heater is probably something most people won't need, I have a room that gets very cold when the central heating is off, the cold winter we are emerging from caused me some fun.

The London Reference has improved things too!

When the deck is ready for production would be a good time for a visit. BTW, I have no commercial arrangement with Vic at Trans-Fi, I just enjoy giving feedback on the deck developments.

Really lovelly work I really like the design
Sometimes I think about doing my Duets in a similar style as looks so much better But not sure if it would work with the Duets
Yes that Salvation is pretty special
I have yet to hear what the London reference can do but Vic was raving about it last time we caught up
