Ikaruga is the name of a shoot em up game originally on the Dreamcast. It's a good game, far from my fave so I've literally no idea at all why I started using it over the place.

Probably the least interesting post you'll read today

Not at all... I did wonder about your name and if it had anything to do with the game. My personal favorite shoot-em-up is R-Type.

My name is simply because it's one of the most memorable and classic programmes on telly that I grew up with (that and The Young Ones)... Will he ever return? And if so, which era?

    I'm george.

    Default Hello

Ive just joined and totally new to all this, although I do have some reasonable(I hope)gear, but no dac or squeezbox as yet.
My real name is George and "seoirse" is the Irish for George.. the 2002? Many years ago I was trying to open an ebay account and seoirse wasnt available and they offered this one which Ive kept!!
As far as hi fi is concerned: I have an AR77XB turntable(needing repair right now)but Im happily using a Michell focus in the meantime...an Inca Tech claymore,Ion Obelisk and a Morgan audio 300 amp. Speakers are Rogers export monitors,LS7 and Kef Concords(original) and quite a few other bits and pieces around the house! Currently streaming my music via a "logitech wireless music system for pc"(dont laugh) It streams direct from my sound card so any program can be used and any music files.I first have to set up a playlist on the pc though and have limited remote control.

I was trying to create a new hotmail address about 11 or 12 years ago, and everything related to my name was taken, unless I wanted to include a string of numbers. I didn't. Grr.

Buffy the vampire slayer was on - an episode in which the gallic roots of simians was being discussed in relation to animal crackers, ending with the line "All monkeys are French."

I entered 'frenchmonkeys', and it was unique. I stuck with it.

I've been asked about it a number of times: once by a rather dull person who was quite pompously declaring herself a green this and an eco that. I explained that it came from when I used to own a monkey wholesale business in France, running it there because the laws on animal cruelty were much more lenient, so I could get a whole container stuffed with monkeys for import, and even though half didn't survive the journey, it still worked out cheaper doing it that way, and the dead ones could be fed to the survivors anyway, so it all worked out... Her mouth worked without a sound for a few moments before she stumbled away with tears in her eyes. I actually managed to keep a straight face, but my buddy had laughed hard into his beer (which he'd quickly brought up in front of his face to hide his mirth), some of which was now dripping from his hair and face. Win win, really.
