Is it still "best system for £100"?

    I'm tempted!
Alex has still got to do the rules but I think it's £100 excluding stands and cables and delivery cost(if any). So far I've got a Sony PS-T15 direct drive TT with cart and a spare stylus(£20) and Ditton 44 'speakers (£60) so if I can get an A&R A60 amp for £20 or less you are all in trouble
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > Troels Gravesen Faital 3WC-15.

More to keep this thread alive than to bore you all with how i'm doing with regards to the challenge, this is where my sub £100 system is at the moment.

Amp Aiwa Series 50 pre & power £4.95
TT Technics SL1800 gifted by David Brook
    Cartridge Nagaoka MP15 £17
    Speakers Castle Durham £15
Tuner Aiwa Series 50 bought with the amp @£4.95
    SACD Yamaha dvd2500 £40
    Interconnectors Pure A/V £5.99

So count it that's 3 different sources, Amp, speakers and interconnectors for less than £100, i'm feeling quite pleased with myself right now

That's it Mike, in a nutshell. I'm supposed to be writing some rules, but that hasn't happened yet, and I naively thought this would just be a bit of a laugh and no one would take it too seriously!

That's good! The whole idea was born out of the fact that most people these days would spend £100 on an ipod dock and think they have a "hifi" - so the intention was to seehow good a sound you could get with "real" hifi - just a bit of fun, and that will be rule #1 - real life is serious enough, as I don't have to tell you this week Mike!

Nah chill out I'm not taking it seriously, neither I think is Mike or (I hope) anyone else really - it's a bit of a laugh and a bragging game - there's more chance of me mounting an expedition to the south pole than lugging those Dittons all the way to Scalford. The fact is we are just saddos and would have bought all this junk anyway
