While its cool to see all the pics and hear everyone had a good time and AoS did themselves proud etc, a slightly, erm, less passionate and relevant to the “average” person interested in how stuff sounded to someone a bit less caught up in the hobby would be cool.

One thing I will say though, is that having listened to a large variety of kit, I don't necessarily think expensive is automatically better, and nor is new... I also felt that some of the best sounding systems were the simplest - in the case of Jerry's system which I offered as being my favourite, an all in one CD player, and an old DD turntable, an integrated amp with built in phono stage, (although both the CDP and Amp are very good quality of course) and a pair of speakers - an interconnect and speaker cables (not even equipment stands from memory) and a very pleasing result. That's not to say that a pre-power combo, a DAC, or separate phono stage is a no-no, but I do wonder if (particularly in an unknown room) "Keep it Simple, Stupid" is the best approach?
