So, looks like we will be having NEBO 11 then? Are we happy with the venue or shall i look elsewhere?
Venue was fine Steve, particularly with good beer and food as well
Yes agreed. Stairs are a bit of a pain but grand other than that.
“Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio”
Hunter S Thompson
Yep i'd agree with the others, it's not perfect the stairs are a pain but food and beer more than make up for it.
As the late Colonel Sanders once said
"I'm too drunk to taste this chicken!!"
A big thanks to Steve for organising and everyone who brought gear and music. It's the first time I've been able to stay to the end and I see what they do now after the "normal" people have left.... they play specialty music...pipe organs...smooth reggae (great to hear John Holt again, Barrington) and a southern rocker playing a Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Qwwali song on a slide guitar (Derek Trucks). If you liked that track there is a great 19 minute live version on Live at The Georgia Theatre.
Yes, the speakers firing down the room was a big improvement compared to across. The Bastanis had plenty of space to strut their stuff and there is plenty of room for several pairs of speakers. At least the stairs are reasonably wide so not too difficult. The food was great - good veggie selection, too. Can't see a reason to change, myself.
Thanks for the positive feedback guys. Duly noted.

Has Steve’s full report been posted yet - or have I missed it? As it happens I have actually read this report, and very good it is too, and I see no reason why it couldn’t be posted on AoS.

There is only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing and be nothing Aristotle
Firing down the room made a big difference Steve. With Good Food/Beer, ample Parking and an easy location just off the A19, the Wellington ticks a lot of boxes.
The stairs are a pain, but we help each other out with the heavy lifting. I would give it a thumbs up as a future venue.
Really enjoyed the day mate, one of the best.
