Its a great LP and a style change away from 'A Broken Frame' which still had that early Vince Clarke signature even though he was no longer in the band after 'Speak & Spell. However the last track on 'A Broken Frame' entitled "The Sun & the Rainfall" is by far my fav Depeche Mode track.. These days DM are really more of a Rock band The high point of their career was without a doubt 'Violator'

Nice one, will definitely be setting that one to record. I think I've said before, but if I could only have one TV channel to watch, it would be BBC4 HD - some of the programmes are fantastic. And am now going to put some DM on to ease me into the weekend!

Was ok but pretty much a singles countdown with associated videos.. I did find the Soft Cell programme that was on a bit before interesting.. Nice to see Dave Ball still using his original Korg '800DV'

I watched the Depeche Mode programme for about ten minutes before I got bored and was reminded of what a lot of crap there was around in the '80s.

To fully appreciate any given decade, appropriate drugs are a handy accessory. Unfortunately the eighties saw a gap between the psychedelics of the 60s/70s, and the "designer" products of the late 80s onward Not that I remember much of any of it
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: Zu Omen Def, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Amptastic Mini One,Arcam A75 integrated, Celestion 5's, BK XLS-200 DF

    A/V:
LG 55" OLED, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL Storm sub

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.

Does not say much for the 80's then cos they were one of the best bands back then.. But one persons view on crap means nothing

Lol - you're showing your age! 80s was 'my era' (in terms of being old enough to appreciate it), but I liked the 70s more for many things, and also the 60s, but was too young to remember any of that decade

I agree with Andre though - the DM programme was ok, but no more that that. I'd have preferred something a little 'deeper' and more insightful, than essentially just a rehash of old Top of the Pops shows.
