Something for the affluent and gullible I'd say.

(did I just hear somebody whisper Shakti? )
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

They actually seem to be getting more popular, see them a lot at shows. Especially amusing if the system using them sounds crap.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

Just noticed the last 'claim' on the top of the unit says 'More analogue sounding'.

What if you are using a digital system/amplifier

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

    ...I smell shite....

    that said?
try sticking some coffee mugs or whatever (you dont need gold plated screwed bolted together in Chinasire thingmwys) under your speaker cables, theories sound, you just might prefer it?

Summit to the theory (which snake oil chancers take advantage of unfortunately) of lifting speaker cables off the ground.
Not to do wih skin effect, more with changing the cables dialectric (You dont want it to be your carpet do you?)

Try it, 5 minutes of a wet Sunday and might actually make a difference.

    Why?
If the "fools" enjoy their investment and it provides them elevated pleasure from music, then who's the proper fool? The dismissive besserwisser or the one who decides to suck it and see?

Long live free choice, and the option to act as an audio-phool!

There is a major problem with having been around such a long time. In my twenties and thirties, I was always up for trying anything. After a long string of rubbish purporting to be the next big thing and much too much money spent on said rubbish, I went back to basics and just listened to the music and not the hi-fi.

Such experience tends to make one just a little cynical. If it sounds like a rubbish idea, it probably is. OK there may just be something lurking there to be discovered but I'll leave that to someone with the time and money to waste

As you say, if you get elevated pleasure from lifting your bits of wire off the floor or feeding them through empty boxes, go for it.
