Just a few photies of me 'gear', laar!

Sounds very good but it's still work in progress. I'm being badgered by my mate to get some Lowthers, and i have to admit they are bloody impressive. The treble extension, output and quality is staggering for a whizzer cone and the depth of sound, immediacy and overall coherence are impressive, but then so's the price! Sadly, i just can't afford them. DOH!!

Nice!! Are the 300b's the PSE or PP version? and is that a pair of KSL 3's? I've had a bit of WAD kit myself-300bPSE,original stereo chassis 300b PP (still have),KEL 84 (still have) and a HD 84 headphone amp (still have) All great sounding kit.Just noticed you use the same 6au6's I used to use. A man of good taste!

Thanks Ali. The 300B's are the PSE version and are a long term loan off a mate who designed and built an 845, (which is a truly phoenomenal amp, dammit!).
The speakers i tend to refer to as 'son of KLS3', in that it uses the cabinet dimensions of that model to achieve the same bass loading, but is a two way using a bloody good SEAS Excell tweeter, although it's taken me a while to get them to sing. Actually, it was just about the same time as i was introduced to Lowthers. B****CKS!!!

Really. really impressive stuff - I'm guessing your listening is mainly classical, Wal or you wouldn't be considering Lowthers. Still I suspect you could find a buyer for your 'son of KLS3s' without too much trouble - they look the business!

    Thanks for your comments, folks.
Macca, surprisingly, i'm not a classical fan, although i do have the odd recording or two. I'm mainly into yer classic Beatles-ey 3 minute pop song, (which I guess doesn't explain why i have 6 Rush, 2 Pink Floyd and 3 Roger Waters albums) and if pushed, i would probably cite 'Penny Lane' as the perfect pop song, closely followed by something from Neil Finn or Aimee Mann, who is a goddess to me.
I mainly listen on the 300B's cos they have a clearer, more extended top end & dynamic contrasts are much better on them, but they can be a bit lightweight for heavier stuff, in which case i'll connect up the 6550, which is a beast, but a much more refined one than it used to be.
