With the backward pointing outrigger and way-rod, it reminds me of the Macinnes S-220 arm; the two look virtually identical. In fact, it could well be the Syntec was marketed in the UK by Macinnes Laboratories in Suffolk.

I can vouch for this one personally as it was mine - the seller appears to have re-used my text from when I sold it! Consequently, for "recently given a once-over", this now actually means "about 18 months ago"!
A grand gets you A LOT more speaker than LS3/5As. I don't get it either...

Yes, except on the Macinnes S-220 arm, the two parts of the counterweight didn't have the 'flats'. Also the transverse balance way-rod is on the right hand side and not the left as shown in the Sparta.Quote:
