And I'm kicking myself for not getting off my arse and buying some too - as I'm sure those holes in my rack will be filled soon :( - and my god this forum is slow, took me about 5 minutes to post this

Here is my collection, stored understairs in the Man Cave :)

I've got a few more shelves to fill before I get to Alex's solution, but I fear it's probably going to have to happen at some point :(
Main CD collection:

LPs, singles and some box sets:

more box sets:

All organised alphabetically and chronologically within artist (yes I'm sad). Box sets are just organised aesthetically ;)
Also, all the CDs are ripped to variable bitrate mp3 for use in J-River media centre when I'm feeling lazy (I can control it using my mobile phone when I'm in the garden etc) and also for listening while on the move.
Nice layout above....my collection is all over the place and most in no order at all:( it would take a lot of work sorting and it could be un doable as a lot are in flight cases some on shelves:mental:
My refurb is coming to an end and I'm just about to press the button on this Vitsœ system:

The 66 cm wide shelves hold masses of LPs. There are CD sized shelves too (3rd image). More details at https://www.vitsoe.com/gb/shelves. I have used this system for years and theirs is the best customer service I have ever experienced.
I'm not convinced that I'll be putting my kit on it and might stick with the Isoblue underneath the lowest shelf for most of it and get some paint matched turntable shelves to fix to the wall.
The beauty is that everything is off the floor and spousal approval high, at least until she sees the bill!
The system was designed by Dieter Rams who also did a load of hifi for Braun. Cop a load of this:

Records stored according to spine colur. That would be impossible for the sake of my sanity!
And unless you know and recognise every single record, you're going to have a bugger of a time finding the one you want! Looks good though!
I store my CDs by artist (in groups) and my vinyl aphabetically.
