Wasn't that bad. Think casting was the worst part tbh. A lot of wooden acting and the commandos looked like they were still in high-school.

Be interested in what you think. It's overly long, but it kept me entertained nonetheless, simply because I'm BIG into anything that depicts 'old time' America in its heyday [50s & 60s], and anything that involves gangsters:)

Plus most of the actors were top notch.

yes it was a pretty good film for its day. A scene had to be cut out when Janet Munro bared her chest... too much for -61..

I can remember seeing it at the cinema, but I doubt I would have been old enough to see it on first release, so it must have been some time later than 1961.

Can't say it made an impression on me. (Though if the deleted scene had been included. I think I would have remembered. :D)

The African Queen 1951.
Bogart,/Hepburn was an excellent match. Nice adventure directed by John Houston.
He and Bogey only drank whisky on the set so didn't catch any of illnesses that beset the rest.
