RED 2 (2013) the sequel to red from 3 years b4. Stars Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lee Byung-hun, Anthony Hopkins, and Helen Mirren, and directed by Dean Parisot, who gave us Fun with Dick and Jane in 2005.
Had a budget of $84 mil and returned a profit of $60 mil, so the old ones still have drawing power.

pretty good film tbh. great action scenes that didnt look fake for most part; probably too many but script was pretty weak....still, mama loves mambo so a solid 7.5 out of 10 for entertainment:)

Martin Scorsese's 1990 classic "Goodfellas" starring Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci and Paul Sorvino among many. This was Critic Roger Ebert's av film of type if memory serves.....Cannot imagine why, but he is a funny guy;)

Great movie that. Casino is good too, in a similar sort of way.
The bloke who does the hit in between the cars in the parking lot ('the way I see it: why take a chance?') in Casino was a real ex-hit man. He was there as technical adviser and when they were shooting that scene he was saying 'no it's all wrong - that's not how you do it'. So in the end they just filmed him doing it and used it in the movie.
Bingeing on 2nd series of Daredevil on Netflix.
Even darker than 1st season, very much for grown ups kiddies.

I'm 4 days into my Hill Street Blues marathon and still only on season one. 7 seasons, 7 discs per season. That's a lot of 1980s US cop drama watching to get through.
Good though. I've not seen these since the mid-Eighties when Channel 4 screened the lot - albeit with some episodes edited.
Not seen hill st blues for many years...quite liked that.... Interesting thought...must consider the boxset some day.
I'm going to do Miami Vice next.
Preferred Miami Vice to Hill Street Blues, but on the whole I preferred 70s US cop shows to 80s ones: Cannon, Streets of San Francisco, Starsky and Hutch, Kojak, Ironside, Columbo, etc :)

It had the lowest rated pilot show of any pilot up to that time. The audience didn't know what to make of it. The network head was on his way out and he wanted to commission something 'worthy' so he gave the green light anyway. The audience was poor but it won all the Emmy's and everyone started to watch it.
Crooks in Cloisters from 1964 I think. Ronald Fraser, Melvyn Hayes, Wilfrid Brambel , Bernard Cribbins, Babs Windsor and the marvelleous davy Kaye as Specs. Davy was a marvel in many ways, but non more than his charity work, where he raised over a million pounds.

Yeah. I like that movie. It's more plausible than other Rambo films.
Not as good as Stallone's best though which was 'Copland'. Outstanding and very well worth tracking down if you've not seen it Grant. It's a superb, gritty, tough, crooked cop movie with great acting (from Stallone too).

Brian Dennahy took a few in the undercarriage I think...lol good film....... now on to "Law and Order" season 1 epp 7 I think..... great original us series that spawned a load of stuff; to my mind this was the best
