Had a new battery fitted yesterday. It doesn't get much use as I only wear it with a dinner jacket.

Oh - I didn't know you could do that. Will give it a try, thanks Roy.
Just tried, and the second sweep had has stopped. Again thanks Roy for that tip.
I would have just left the battery to run down and rely on Timpsons lifetime supply. But better still would be to wear the watch more often - you don't see that many square or rectangular case watches worn these days. Or those with a leather strap.
Effectively switches the watch off and not too onerous a task to reset the hands on a nice simple design like your Bulova.
I have one square watch on a leather strap

Bronze I think?
Contentious dial time

Is it a bit worrying when your ecstatically happy about tracking down an old Casio strap that matches your retro Timex perfectly?
(Only problem with strait jackets is that the sleeves are always too long :drugs: )

Got the Monaco back this weekend,
After nearly 4 months back at Swiss HQ for full service.
Full mechanical work over (parts stripped, cleaned and full Regulation on reassembly)
New Crystal
New Crown
Rewaterproofed (with New Gaskets)
Case Polish
New strap and Deployment clasp
Part of my Boys Inheritance,
So keeping it in top nic is worth it.

.
Watch like brand new again,
And an extended 12 month Warranty...
Very Cool.

Looking good Gary. What had happened to the crystal & crown?
Changed the strap on mine, don't find those deployment clasps very comfortable.

Nothing Roy,
Far as I knew they were tip top?
Just part of the service I guess.
The blue sunburst on your Calliber 12 is awesome,
Happy mine's has (half!) that, which is different from the flat blue of the non Gulf one
Another shocking dial? Those Arabs and Romans are right mixing it up!

I'm very pleased with it Peter, been looking at these for a while, this was keenly priced.
Been a good week for watches, this arrived today - SRPG61K1 with 'cement' dial (that nato's coming off)
