Next up was Paloma Faith. Always opinionated, but at least she could sing and was a bit 'different' to her contemporaries. Sadly I found her performance was spoilt by her sexual-political rants. The only saving grace, for me, was her singing a song by the late, great Amy Winehouse.
Finally: Steel Pulse - good solid Jamacian regge from this Birmingham band. Excellent - and more than made up for Paloma Faith's performance.

Orbital - really looked forward to this as it is exactly 30 years since I saw them there and was the highlight of the festival for me. And this one didn't disappoint. Concentrated on their earlier "classics", and that's fine by me.

So first up this 2014 release from Swedish sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg, recorded at ARC (Omaha Nebraska) and produced by Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes).
This is thier third of five studio albums and probably the most well known in the UK due to the tracks " My Silver Lining " and " Master Pretender " the latter being a regular radio playlist album track and the former the "single" playlist track.

Next one of my all time favourite eccentric English rockers. Known for his gritty, bluesy voice and dynamic stage performances that featured expressive body movements. Following his death in December 2014, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, were among those who paid tribute to the singer, while Cocker's agent, Barrie Marshall, said that Cocker was "without doubt the greatest rock/soul singer ever to come out of Britain".
This album from 1989 is his twelfth studio album from twenty two studio albums spanning six decades. The album features the well know "When the Nigh Comes" the song is also notable because it was written by Bryan Adams, Jim Vallance and Diane Warren. In addition, the former plays rhythm guitar on the song. Other notable songs on the album include a cover of "One Night" (here as "One Night of Sin"), a #1 hit by Elvis Presley from 1958, and "I'm Your Man" by Leonard Cohen. The album also features "Another Mind Gone", which was the first album track in thirteen years to be co-written by Cocker.

Lastly, my morning session ends with vinyl and this original release pressing from 1984, this was the second (and final) "reunion" album and their eleventh studio album.
The album is highly regarded for its excellent sound as it was recorded Live at A&M Records "Charlie Chaplin" Soundstage Hollywood California and engineered by Alan Sides It is an early digital recording (dating from December 1982) and was the first Spirit album to be released on CD, appearing in that format from Mercury Records in West Germany in 1984 (consequently, it is also one of the best sounding early CD releases from a rock band), the original CD is in fact incredibly rare !

I would be hard pressed to choose the worse, but "Can't Buy a Thrill" and "The Royal Scam" would be up there.
