I have on many ocasions being involved with the higher voltage end of electronics [valves] had quite severe shocks, i remember one such instance very vivid, i was testing an amp on the bench, and trying to reduce power supply hum, i tagged a 470uf 450v aerovox cap across the full HT [when it was off ] and turned on the amp, when i had tested what i needed, i unclipped the cap and put it on the bench, still fully charged! after i had finnished for the day i was tidying up my bench as i always do, and without thinking picked up the charged cap, touching both terminals as i did, well, lets just say, there was a lot of shouting, and leaping about, and a couple of holes in my hand where the terminals had burnt through!
not very clever i know, but it taught me a valueable lesson, now i avoid this by fitting discharge resistors! :mental:;):confused::mental:
