Fair enough - remove 'Viva' and push the rest up a place. I think we are in agreement with 'For your Pleasure' and with their debut album. With the exception of 'Flesh + Blood' which I have on vinyl, all the rest are remastered CDs, so the only track I like on 'Roxy Music' is Virginia Plain, which I believe was not on the original release. I absolutely loved this album when it first came out. I'd just got my first company car which I inherited from someone who left - a Rover 216 GTi 3dr, which the previous "owner" had fitted a Kenwood stereo with 6 disc CD changer in the boot - I'm pretty sure this disc never left it, until some toerag smashed the window and stole the whole system including my CDs. That car was great, even had a "car phone" installed, drove it like I stole it until I moved to my current employer and had to suffer a Ford Mondeo TD LX. Not sure company cars are much of a thing anymore, unless you get an EV because of the tax.
I used to drive a Rover 1.6 litre SLi (I think that was the trim level). Loved it, but I have never been one for playing music in the car. It did have a Blaupunkt radio cassette player, which I only used when driving on motorways.Quote:

I remember you having the Rover. My Dad had a 414 SLi (4 door saloon version) which he loved, too. They were excellent cars, mainly because they were built in conjunction with Honda. Of course Rover then became part of the BMW group, and for a brief spell they were even better - I had a Rover 75 in 2002 as my last but one company car and it was truly excellent. Coincidentally I then moved from Rover to Audi. I can't imagine not having tunes on when driving, though!Quote:

Those Rover 216/416 were pretty nippy on the quiet. In the early 90s I had a MK 2 Golf GTI 16v, my mate had a 216GTi. And there really wasn't much in it. His insurance was quite a bit cheaper too.

I was obsessed with "Ain't Talkin 'Bout Dub" - the second single from this album - when it came out. Based around a sample from Van Halen's Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love - it took me weeks to get hold of the 2nd version of the CD single (remember when bands used to do that?). So another one I haven't played all the way through in a while, but just as good as it always was.
