Curious mixture of advice here concerning running the engine either at tickover or at a higher than tickover rate to top up a battery. Half the advice (including that of the AA) say one thing, the rest the other.
i'd say 1500 to 2000rpm is about right.. a run is better tho all round, as ticking over speed isnt great for the car . brakes, sprigs etc need a workout too. at tickover if youve got a few things on like heater etc you may not actually charge anythingQuote:

One thing about the Superduke I really don’t like is the shitty steering damper.
I did strip it down and put a heavier weight oil in it, which helped, but it wasn’t adjustable, so..
This arrived today and has 22 damping positions

So you don't like a good tank slapper then? I've never had a steering damper on the Blade, but then I don't push it that hard, and it's not so much of a beast as the KTMs.
I did once get a morning riding an RR5 Fireblade which had a factory damper, and I didn't like it. Just less "entertaining" somehow. Might have been the bike though, not the damper, but it put me off buying one for mine.

I had a RR5 Blade with the HESD electronic damper and as I’ve said on here before, it was the most predictable and dare I say a little boring bike to ride.
Everything was just a little too clinical for me.
I like a little danger and excitement as I'm sure you do :D
