Lemon cheesecake for pudding.
And, I think, a 2021 Château le Tertre Be;-Air, Côtes de Bordeaux to drink.
Some good wholesome meals there, Barry, the prawn concoction looks interesting! [emoji846]

I've lost my camera, so won't be able to post photos of our gastronomic delights.
I'll just enjoy looking at your photos instead.
Chicken Souvlaki done on the BBQ with veggie kebab and salads.
Still trying to be healthy and lose some weight - 9lbs in 4 weeks so far, off the booze too which has probably contributed more than the healthier grub!
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f69d3f0be8.jpg
Well done Alex, I could do with losing about 9lbs, then another 20 or so. Problem is I do like eating, even more than I dislike having 70% of my wardrobe unwearable.
Yeah, I've got at least another 20 to go! Ideally 3 stone in total, I've done more than that before but it is a slog. I did manage to stay at my "fighting weight" for a few years, then around this time last year I got an attack of sciatica which left me virtually unable to walk for 6 weeks. It got better for about 2 weeks, then it struck again and lasted another 6 weeks or so, so best part of 5 months hardly doing any exercise and not compensating by cutting down the calories, hence the weight gain.
It was the wardrobe thing that made me take stock and get back on the regime - as I wear suits for work, I would have no choice but to buy bigger ones, and I'm too tight (pun intended!) to do that again!
Late entry from York , chilli duck and chow mein.

Yesterday, eaten al fresco:
On a bed of cous-cous with pine kernals, peanuts and pumpkin seeds were some king prawns marinaded in a chilli and coriander sauce, green beans, peas, sweetcorn niblets, carrots, and brocolli.
Strawberries and yogurt for dessert.
All washed down with some Heineken lager.
(Sorry, I'm still without a camera, and I don't know how to transfer photos taken with my phone onto the Forum.)
Today:
Corn on the cob to start, followed by a salad.
On a bed of grated carrot, flaked tuna, hard-boiled duck eggs, boiled potato, cherry tomatoes, celery, and beetroot.
Black cherries and cream for dessert.
Heineken to drink.
Another salad:
On a bed of rocket and grated carrot, hard-boiled duck eggs, freshwater prawns, celery, red pepper, cooked lentils and cooked green beans.
Black cherries and double cream for dessert.
Liver and onions, boiled potatoes, carrots, green beans and brocolli, with a home made tomato sauce.
Black cherries with double cream for dessert.
A 2023 'Le Coin' Bordeaux to drink.
As mentioned in the “watches” thread, it was William’s 13th birthday on Saturday, and like most lads his age I guess, all he thinks about is gaming and eating!
So Saturday brunch at the local farm shop/cafe, the Hog & Hen:

Then for the evening, a meal at The Kings Head in Woodbridge. He had the “stacked” burger:

Tamzin had the “normal” burger:

And Sue had the fish platter thingy:

Yesterday was a family BBQ. Suffice to say I didn’t lose any weight this week!

Nice. We had 12oz sirloin steaks with chunky chips the other night.
Mixed grill (for two)

Don't be silly - knowing Roy's appetite that is a meal for one; and it's all for him! ;)

Looks good, Barry, were you celebrating?
Not really. My partner's nephew was over from Germany to spend a few days in London. Whilst in the UK we thought he might like to see the village where we live, and to take him out to a very good restaurant in the village.
The restaurant is in a restored medieval timbered tythe barn dating from 1372. The food is always excellent, if expensive.
Something chickeny.

 Something Chickeny is my favourite!
Some more fine dining:
Poached egg and Truffle en croute
https://i.postimg.cc/RFYcbwBG/018.jpg
A bit of a cheat going on here as porcini are being used rather than the advertised truffle. A common substitution, as porcini do taste very similar to truffle, but at a fraction of the price.
Followed by
Loin of Venison, with berries, pear, green beans and baby new potatoes

And to finish

A 2020 Le Vieux Château Guibeau, Puissegran Sainte-Émilion, to drink.
More chilli con carne (I usually make a bucket load!)
