Hey Dave, the only buttons i touch are power switches, play, open etc :lol: Once it's set up it's just press go at the end of the day ;) There are lift buttons on the DSP to fiddle with but i want my system to sound flat in the room, another reason i like pre amps with no tone controls :cool:
Everything is routed through the Audio Research MP1 pre amplifier Martin. Only the front channels (left & right) go to the DCX crossovers. These use 24/96 ADCs to convert to digital & then split the signal 4 ways @ 110HZ, 500Hz & 5KHZ. These are then converted back to analogue via 24/96 DACs & fed to the various amplifiers. Only the signal below 110HZ goes to the Antimode 8033 DSPs. So yes, in answer to your question anything analogue will also be fed through both DCX & Antimode DSPs. Just remember than only sub 110Hz has the room correction! Hope that helps :)
I wish i could understand it to :lol: Seriously though it's just plug & play, the unit calibrates itself via a microphone.
Interesting actually as it does 4 frequency sweeps but they aren't constant, they are kind of pulsed. I guess it does this so it can hear how the waveform it generates whilst calibrating is decaying in the room! It knows what it's feeding the bass amps so it knows it should decay as fast as it does in the generated waveform. It then makes it decay as fast or damn near.
It can be quite odd listening to stuff as you hear bass so clearly & what before sounded one way now sounds nearly completely different & weird at times as you remember it how it was :scratch:
It's plain as day when any sub 20HZ signal is playing though, the room doesn't affect it any more.. Also no room boom at about 40Hz where it used to be annoying when anything was playing around that frequency.

At just over £200 each they are a steal imo, you'll not get cleaner bass from any speaker simply because you are listening in a room of finite size :rolleyes: All rooms have room modes & as a consequence delayed resonances. This thing appears to get rid of the room up to 150Hz...

New amp for my subs, the old Mackie M3000 just wasn't going to cut the mustard with 4 x 1KW bass drivers...
Enter the most powerful 2 channel amplifier i have ever come accross, the Lab Gruppen PLM14000 :) 7000W RMS per channel @ 2 ohms or 2300W RMS per channel @ 8ohms (which is what i'll be feeding). Problem solved... :lol:

Sort of Ali, yes. It uses a clever circuit kind of similar to a huge class D amp to "track" the output voltage so in effect there is only a few volts accross the output stage which is class B by the way. Therefore no filter on the output is needed.
It runs as cool as a cucumber, i even went inside it to slow the damn fans due to the noise (i couldn't live with it). In the end after a bit of experimentation i ended up running both fans with resistors in series to slow them. Voltage drop was about 25% but the difference in noise was huge :)
Yesterday evening kicking out about 200W RMS per channel the maximum temp that the thing reached was as follows:- PSU 25%, DSP 30% & amplifiers 26%. All this with the fans sitting on idling speed, they can spin a lot faster ;)
It's a beast, but i can hear the difference the SMPS psu makes to deep bass & stuff below 20Hz even at moderate volume levels. Obviously once i have subs capable of 118.5Db @ 10Hz that SMPS is going to come into it's own, a 50HZ toroidal like the Mackie would be pretty useless in all honesty due to the recharge rate & capacitor voltage sag :rolleyes:

I forgot to mention the amp is secondhand, new they are kind of expensive :eyebrows: However it's manufacturer refurbished & it came with a rather nice 6 year guarantee, hows that for reliability :eek: Considering what it'd normally be used for (big concerts at stupendous volume) i reckon it'll have a rather easy life here :cool:
