I wrote a nice little post before my b'stard PC crashed & i just can't be arsed again
Briefly the Behringer DCX sound vastly better than the previously installed Behringer CX-3400, no doubt due to the fact that i have added delays to get all the drivers time aligned. I now have them pinned down to within 1mm & the result is pretty impressive. What was some kind of sound before is now easily discernable & the stereo image is much more cohesive than it was previously - no easy thing
The Antimode 8033 (pair of - one for each channel) have made a significant difference to the bassThere is no trace of any room modes & every bass note is easily picked out from it's neighbour. Bass does appear to be a hell of a lot faster & there is absolutely no boom what so ever, it does appear to have effectively gotten rid of the room
Some pics & i'm off to listen
Yeeehaaaa
I need a rest, installing that half killed me after my recent back episode![]()

Impressive, Mark.
Whenever I see that blue in a picture, I always know who it is
Those speakers look good Mark and I love the screen, bet it rocks for Sci-Fi movies.
Some people have no idea what they're doing and a lot of them are really good at it.

Good God man, digital processing, active speakers? AV??? You'll have the valve-n-vinyl lot running for the hills
Looks impressive sir - and watch your back FFS.....
I can't go on and I can't go back, I don't feel so matter of fact,
I tried and tried to make good sense, What's the good to try it all again?
Hi Martin, cheers for popping in chapIt actually is pretty impressive & i'm talking about the sound rather than how it looks. Frankly i don't care about that as i'm not looking at it as it's to my right. I'll get some kind of comprehensive results typed up of what the two DSP black boxes have done & i can tell you it certainly isn't subtle. I'll give it another week so i'm fully aquainted with them on different types of bass (deep, rhythmic, punchy etc) & then hit the bypass buttons & i know i'm not going to like what i used to hear
Plenty on google now if you know what you are looking forThe screen is great Tim, i tend to watch 1.85:1 & 1.77:1 movies etc on the screen & anything over 2.20:1 on the TV as it scales up to 2560 x 1080 & gets rid of the black bars at top & bottom. I guess i'm spoilt for choice
Cheers Andy, both the DCX2496 & the Antimode 8033 pair were definately worth the investment imo. The DCX has just about any & every adjustment you could wish for in an active crossover. The imaging from the speakers has improved far more than would be expected (by anyone that hadn't accurately time aligned drivers beforehand). It's just a question of tiny amounts of delay to line up the voicecoils so they are all the same 'distance' from the listeners ears. It makes a significant difference to what you hear!
Yeah i don't see too many valve types posting on here, i wonder why?
I'm sure i'd get called blasphemous, after all i have upsampling to DSD from native red book CD, then 24/96 ADCs followed by 24/96 DACs & then another ADC/DAC & digital processing in the bass channels
Hang the witch
My back did ache a bit for a while after but i didn't put it out again thankfully
Hope you are all having a pleasant weekend![]()

Aye agreed, the DCX is a good bit of kit. Nice setup Mark.
It won't be long before you'll be needing to begin an investigation into that mythical cellar under the floorboards Mark, as pretty soon there'll be no space for you in that living room of yours
It would be lethal for me to own a setup like yours, I couldn't resist fiddling with all those buttons and switches
Best regards matey...![]()
How do you route analogue through your system, Mark? Do you still use the digital room correction?
