That's were good IMO. They were an imprint of Taiyo Yuden who's archive CD's were the toast of Deadheads and live show traders for years :)
My preferred weapon of choice for feeding the tape deck. :)

'Thats' came onto the tape market quite late, if I remember, where tape formulation quality was already on the decline, compared to the heyday of the late 70s/early 80s, where some of the stuff from TDK, for example, was truly exceptional...

Aye. Nothing compares to my NOS Maxell XL I high output cobalt formulation sometimes tagged Type III, but really a hybrid Type I / Type II which gives metal like performance but with a slightly less hard edged sound versus Type IV - quite a rare gem, IMO.
I always liked BASF chrome and found it worked better than metal on my Marantz portable deck. That was my primary source when I worked out in Germany for a while, I still have it somewhere.
