I read somewhere that the pi/dac draws 300mA in use, the Lidl solar charger output is 5V/0.5 amp according to the manual.
MY Pi & Dac combo is now operational. a hdd plugged into the usb port and hard wired currently into the router. control is via my tablet using volumio and powered by my tablet charger. (perhaps it may be a tad underpowered but works) wouldnt run a small usb drive so connected a bigger powered one and off it went.

Looking at the charge times, I would say it's probably not a good bet. That battery at capacity will run the Pi + DAC for somewhere in the region of 7 hours without a top up, but the quoted figures for recharging are most likely with the panel sat outside facing the sun. If it's going to sit in a window to get charge, you can probably at least double that charge time figure. Comparing the charging times when plugged in, it doesn't look like a very good quality solar panel. If the solar panel isn't that much of an issue, then you're better off with an Anker battery which are very good.
I think a decent quality 5V feed from the mains is going to beat a battery though.
Interesting thing... I've just been snorting some DSD but it won't play with either Medium and Best Sync Interpolator selected. (with upsampling disabled)

Good question! I've been away visiting friends up in Scotland, and have just got back, so haven't had time to do anything much with hi-fi. However, I should be able to get some pics up, along with a review, before the weekend - so watch this space :)
In the meantime, I can certainly confirm that it is very good indeed and elevates the sonic performance of the RPi into the veritable super-league! :cool:
