Good quality stuff Heals...:)
Nice old thing, that! :)
Marco.
Go on, you know you want a pair..
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/White-Wate...item19dafa019f
.
They don't have seperate enclosures i know i have both Mk.I & Mk.II..
A nice little NVA setup... Tempted to put a bid on for a laugh :eyebrows: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NVA-P50-PR...item4172387441
The seller says:
"THIS ITEM HAS BEEN ADVERTISED ELSEWHERE" but has no reserve. How does that work. Doesn't seem any point in bidding if it could be withdrawn any time. If someone makes a bid and they are the highest (with no reserve) then they should win the auction IMO.
could be a bargain, only 2 hours left

A bargain you say?
At £9.00?
Are you sure?
I'd think there are cheaper ways to hear rumbling noises!
Name one!
Stick yer head in a cement mixer - that's free. And more musical!
Ho, Ho, somebody got stung twice! 'White Van Man' speakers x2. bad enough getting caught out for one pair, let alone two. They're complete crap!

Threw one of these in the bin complete with stylii, didn't know what it was and looked like shit.

Bargain http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dual-CS-50...-/130886508529
Edit: Oh its gone now.
More loony pricing. £199 for a bottom of the range early seventies Rotel RA-210 amplifier. Eight quid from a boot sale would be more like it.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rotel-RA-2...ht_2620wt_1036
Was it effectively sold or the listing simple ended?
It either ran out of time or the seller closed the listing. If you look here http://www.ebay.co.uk/csc/theholypre...mplete=1&rt=nc
Its red meaning it didnt sell, if it were green then I'd be doing this
Pair of Kef 104/2 needing TLC http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2009132508...84.m1423.l2649
Some great stuff in the description:
'This KEF speaker incorporates a tweeter for excellent high-frequency sound reproduction'
Note: If selling a loudspeaker it is always worth mentioning it has a tweeter just to avoid any doubt.
'What’s more, connect an amplifier ranging from 25-200 watts to this KEF speaker for a booming sound effect'
I would prefer to connect an amp of 24 watts or less or 201 watts or more in order to avoid the booming effect but that's probably just me :)
He does say the " I always try and describe items to the best of my ability."
cut him some slack ;)
You're right, I am very unkind. I do wonder though if the grainy sound is just due to him connecting up some other recycle junk for amplification and source and the speakers are actually in good order. Bargain if you are near to Kettering.
Although I don't know if I like Kettering since I've never kettered (boom - tish).
The ridiculous description is not his and not his fault. That's eBay's onsite product information, god knows where it came from, it reads like a 'Pidgin English' translation.
The "graininess" described will no doubt be due to the tweeter coils binding on dried out Ferrofluid!
Exactly how knackered is this ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/J-A-Michel...item2a2b78297c
Any bits obviously missing/damaged ? [apart from the cables.] enquiring minds want to know ;)
Bearing: spindle looks like it's done a runner.
Not the original platter for starters
Meh... Best left to the vultures then. Thanks chaps.
Complete budget vinyl setup for someone... Looks to be style over substance to me
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Project-RP...item3cd0abac6c
The description has one of the funniest sentences I've ever read in a classified advert.
Quote:
When combined together, these 3 units produce a quality of sound far in excess of what might be expected from the individual components.
I love the sound of a record deck on its own. The lovely hiss of the bearing...
Yes and the amp probably makes a gentle thrum on it's own, but unlpugged speakers? Well, I just find them a bit boring.
:rfl: I didn't even notice!
