You did register it I thought. They had a little screen by reception and you put the registration in? Not your fault if their stupid tech isn't working.

Cheers Mart, nice that one of us has a working memory - I vaguely remember that now you mention it... And that's really generous of you to offer to help, but Anita has just had an email to say the penalty notice has been withdrawn :)

We won't get that kind of nonsense at Cranage - just as well when a bite to eat and a pint costs as much as a parking fine.

The first year I was stunned by the gouging I took. Second year had hopes it might have just been a bad dream but it wasn't. Last year was just resigned to it.

At least it isn't crap even if it is expensive.

I still base everything around that Japanese hotel in Amsterdam where a small brandy cost 25 euro. And that was 20 years ago. I bought a round and it cost all the euros I'd brought with me and we'd only been on holiday for an hour.

:lol: Sorry I shouldn't laugh really, if that were me I'd be properly gnashing... I'm not averse to spending my money, but that's just taking the piss.

As for Cranage - I suppose the eye-watering prices are offset to some degree by the free admission, and on balance still worth going. Other shows would charge for admission and probably still be stupidly expensive while there. As well as being staged in the wrong parts of the country.

I'll try not to knock over my first pint this year, some savings to be made there :)

€25 for a small brandy! For that, I would expect nothing less than a genuine Napoleon brandy.

Barman probably saw them stumbling out of the coffee shop next door and thought hmm, we can make some money here, they won't know any better :D
