Never heard one yet that's as good as valves to my ears. Some of Nelson Pass' designs sound rather good though. :)

Ah, ok I'll try that. I guess my point was that I don't expect there to be much difference between the Ayre as a transport and the Pioneer. My experience with my previous Blu-ray player was that it was a fine transport.Quote:

Since I've not owned any of Stan's products before, actually just became aware of them while researching new DACs I'd be reluctant to ask him to change anything but I will say that on my DACMagic I do glance at it quite often to see what the sample rate is that is playing. Sometimes I think something sounds especially good and I look over to see if it's a high res flac or whatever.Quote:
