I'm sorry, but these two statements don't sit well together...
Surely Faith is just that, however one chooses to apply it. Faith is a personal thing, and it is entirely wrong to question it in others, however outlandishly it may differ from our own. I have faith that eventually we will interact with an intelligent species which has evolved outside of Earths biosphere...
I was gobsmacked when he made his statements after all the shit he was giving me.If you wasn't colin i apologise, but that's the way it came across.
keep the 'faith' there might be contact sooner than we think.Worldwide aknowledge contact that is.:eyebrows:

What if they are here to enslave us? If you ask me we have enough problems already without a bunch of aliens showing up with vastly superior technology and start throwing their weight about. Recipe for disaster if you ask me, mate.
It is my belief that most of us from time to time experience things that defy our current understanding, however' that does not mean that we are always mistaken or that it didn't happen.
I agree with everything you said. I believe weird things do happen, people do genuinely see them sometimes and we are very far from knowing about everything. However, I also believe that most of the weird stuff people claim to have seen has pretty normal explanations.
There was a program on the TV a while back about the giant lizard people who run the world. Interviewed was a woman who had seen one. It stood over her bed one night then disappeared without a trace. The amazing coincidence was that this woman knew all about the lizard people before she saw one! Was right into the idea, had piles of stuff about them, probably reading a book about them before she nodded off. Do I think she actually had a visit from Gredo? Am I a bad person for not simply believing her?
Darren, I'm sorry that you're miffed that I don't believe you saw a commercial airliner with a cloaking device. Which just happened to switch it on when it went behind a cloud. Maybe it did but I think it's far more likely that you are mistaken. Any reasonable person would not be upset about that as they would be able to see it from an outside perspective.
As a Christian I have experienced things that I believe were the workings of God in my life. I wouldn't bother to discuss them here because from the outside people would dismiss them as coincidence. I am fine with that. If I were in their shoes so would I, the conclusion is reasonable. I would never try to convince someone of the truth of Christianity by explaining any personal experiences. That's not evidence. It's just my subjective experience.
I am happy to consider all sorts of strange phenomenon but I'm not going to just believe every mad idea that get thrown up. Sorry if you're not happy with that.

Some Day our freind Colin will see something he will not be able to explain away.
It will change everything for him.
And if he reads enough mabey he will understand that the Bible he has been reading as well as the Tora and the book of Enoch, Jubille ect...
Will help him to understand even more about his faith and just what God has been at war with.
I belive the these events not to be paranormal at all,and are older than the Earth itself. We are just not meant to see them.
Do you know much about the indian vedas?

One could argue that we are allready enslaved.Im not saying we need to look to e.t.'s to save us far from it,and you cannot assume that all e.t.'s are negative.

Many religions are dangerously insular in my opinion, which is why I don't subscribe to any of them. I prefer to look at the bigger picture. I do understand why some find comfort in it though... ;)

Im not miffed colin far from it i enjoy people giving there view.i have said repeatedly i don't care if people believe me or not im not trying to convince anyone. It just seemed you were being condencending in your replys.Im a reasonable person but when someone seems to mock and show a lack of respect i get annoyed yes.All i ask is you you want a dialogue show respect and you will get it back. It's good to have discussions with people who have different opinions.
Now what was that you said about reptilians :)
you cannot assume that all e.t.'s are negative.
You could be right - I mean if you think about it they wouldn't understand how the money worked or anything so we could stich them up everytime they bought something just like we did when the Yanks came over in in WWII..

no not at all,and i probaly wouldn't either. Here's my opinion on the subject.
Colin you say your a christian so i take it you believe in angels and demons, correct me if im wrong.Lets assume they exist. Now demons live in the non physical world and to interact in this 'physical world' they have to posses a human. So lets look at it from a more modern perspective. What we call demons are often described to look reptilian so isn't it plausable that if you believe in demons then reptilians could be the same entity with a different name. And if these demons/reptilians posses human leaders of the world and influence them,it could be argued that that run the world.

Well it's not my theory but i will say this. Some of the oldest religious worship to be found dates back about 80,000(i could be wrong with this figure). What were they worshiping? serpents.Serpent worship was all over the planet now are they all worshiping snakes?maybe, maybe the serpent is a symbolic image for something else.If you look at the world around you you see sepent/dragon/gargolye/reptilian imagery everywhere all over the world.Just walk around london,it is rife with it.Symbolism is very important to try and get a grip on all this imo.

I'm going to nail my colours to the mast here, so I apologise in advance if what I am about to post causes any upset:
I strongly believe that the UFO phenomenon and certain documented events described within the Bible are one and the same. The difference is that today 'Mankind' likes to think of himself as being very 'tech' savvy, so we find ourselves able to grasp the 'concept' of space faring craft and races, whereas Biblical man was governed by the concepts of Gods, Angels and Demons and described his encounters thusly. Likewise, sightings from the Victorian era were described as Phantom Airships and Ghost Rockets. The times we live in dictate our interpretation of the phenomenon, which in itself, demonstrates that this has been going on for a very long time...
p.s. Please don't misinterpret my use of 'masculine' descriptors in this paragraph as being in anyway sexist. My pathetic attempts at political correctness read inelegantly and, I felt, detracted from the impact of the paragraph. Womankind is as inextricably linked to this subject as man, if not more so considering Mary may have been the subject of artificial insemination facilitated by an alien species...
"Brrrr'ing Brrrr'ing....... 'click' ....... "I'm sorry, but the human race is too busy fighting amongst themselves to take your call at the moment. Please try again later..... 'click'...... brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......
"Dammit Snarfblat, I told you not to tell Jesus to say that he was the son of God, why didn't you send him down in the regulation skin-tight silver suit and wobbly Deeleebopper antenae, now look what you've done. You are in SOOO much trouble buddy....." :sofa:

I get what your saying, and that thought resembles my own of some years ago.
But looking at all the evadance has brought me full circle.
There is just something about an 11 year old boy in a third world country with no education speaking about obtruse scripture in a language he couldn't possably have even heard let alone learned.with an overtion to anything Holy or blessed. His name was Zameen and he died shortly after an extensive exorcisom. His body was to malnurished as he was not allowed to eat, this is a common sighn.Much of what you hear in the movies can be close to the real thing. He had been to doctors ect...
He was only returned to normal after an exorcisum for less than a day,he was able to eat agein but died from the damage done over a couple of months of real possetion.
If there is pure Evil there must also be divine prefection IE God.
Hey Jeff, good to hear from you buddy :)
I'm poking fun at myself with the last two lines incidentally... :lolsign:
I hear you bud. I don't disbelieve in God by the way, I just think there is way more to his story than what those in Biblical times could grasp, and us too for that matter. There's a big 'ole Universe out there and it was created by something for a purpose, it's up to us to figure out what that purpose is and to abide by it accordingly... :)

Very well spoken, I find a lot of sense comming from pre cannon books, for example the book of Enoch,Jasher,Jubalee. So menny missing events.
For example what happened to Seth and his family line?
If Adam really did have a wife before Eve(Lillith) and she was found to be Evil and ran off with Demons to become one herself.
Then there would have been some form of sin before Eve existed.
All of this was most likely lost much like 2/3 rds of the dead sea scrolls.
One thing is for sure there is a cover up,from the very church I am a member,of more information someone wanted out of the mainstream.

Mabey you never heard the story of Adam and Lillith,we don't know how menny years they spent togather,no mention of children.
Except that she hated them and in demonic form kills them.
We only know she tried to dominate Adam and sexualy dominant as well.
Eve was then made from Adam.Of course this story was never cannonised and so it's better understood in the Jewish faith.
All Im saying is for example,The revelation to Peter his 2nd closest decipal, with was very easy to verify and it was left out.Prehaps his closest decipal Mary Magdalin was nearly compleatly omitted when she discussed more with him than even Peter.
There are storys about a youg Jesus groing up that where left out.
Enoch was omitted and he was prehaps one of Gods most favored haveing talked all his life with God.
Yet all of this is omitted as to old,or unessecery?
Thats all...

We need to remember that it was the church itself, or more accurately, representatives thereof who removed certain books and passages from the Bible and I am not going to name names as I'd be in terrible danger of igniting a vitriolic inter-faith mass flame-fest...
Suffice it to say that most of the books and passages that have been removed were perceived to offer the potential to empower and embolden the proletariat of the Middle Ages. Not that there was much danger of the 'prols' finding out as they were positively discouraged from learning to read by the very Men Of God they sought education and wisdom from.
"Why would you need to learn to read my son, am I not one who is chosen by God? All that God wants you to know he will deliver through me, his servant and minister, Amen!"
I think you get the picture... :eyebrows:

Spot on Dave ;) Imo religion was formed to keep the masses under control & keep the money with the church or whatever you want to call it.
I had some Jehovas Witnesses around a while ago & i explained i didn't believe in god as it didn't fit with how the universe was formed. One of the women chimed up (in a quite serious fashion) that if what i was saying was correct then the weak will be subdued by the strong :eyebrows: I replied that some humans even though they don't believe in god at least have morals...
Whilst thinking about the animal kingdom & natural selection

The mechanics of how it came together are not very relevant in my opinion. If it is the Word of God then surely He would design some way of validating the message system, some way of knowing the message was from Him and not from anywhere else?
If you think about it, there are all sorts of tales, fables, stories and ideas floating about. There are today and I'm sure there will have been thousands of years ago too. Don't you think that if God wanted to send a massage there would be some way to differentiate it from the noise?
Thanks Mark ;)
I tell you one thing buddy, of all the various flavours of Christianity out there, I've always found Jehova's Witnesses to be the most interesting to debate this stuff with. The ones I've met have never been patronising or condescending to me, in fact they are most willing to listen. They never seem to forget to leave a Watchtower however...

You know i really fancy (sometimes) the thought of going round peoples houses & knocking on their doors with a goat on a rope & preaching the benefits of belief in the Devil :eyebrows: Can you possibly imagine peoples reaction? Yet isn't it the same as going round & preaching god at them?

I believe I would treat them equally and fairly. They would get five seconds, the same as the Jehovah's Witnesses.

He clearly has,he came to earth in human form, suffered our sins, was sacraficed in the most brutal way and rose from the dead.
What more do you need, know anyone else who rose from the dead after 3 days?
The whole thing is part of a master plan,God makes the rules and works with in them.
This is about God,all of it,not us.
My take is there where two revolts in Heaven,in the first one third of his Angels rebelled and where cast out ,during this time they have diminion over the Earth,a second Race of Angels then rebeled came to Earth and took human wives called the Nethalin,God killed them and there giant offspring in the great flood.God is showing all of Heaven what happens when his spirit is not presant for example,I wondered as a kid (If God made everything, then why Evil?)
Well Evil exists in the absence of God...
For example There has always been darkness and God is the light that has always defeated darkness.
Some how I feel God is setteling a huge dispute or war in Heaven and God created us to humble his Angels in Heaven.
The pride thing/ God asked the Angels to serve a lesser being US HUMANS (to help us if you will) Some Angels one in perticular rebeled.
Remember Jesus washing someones feet, this was a powerful message of loveing your servent and serving with love.
If God in human form could give himself for us,why couldn't Angels sacrefice there pride to help us humans?
It is all part of a huge cosmic Godly plan.
The more I read the more I am sure it's true.
I know I sound like a cooke and mabey I am.
For the record I don't even go to church much but tend to read and pray on my own,I was not brought up Catholic but became one as a young man and have looked deeply into other faiths, this has only given me more insight into my own.
I just can't get over the fact that we keep finding lost citys, scrolls and that keep conferming the same thing, and shedding new light.
But in the end it is all about faith...
Nothing at this point proves even the existance of God in court,It is supposed to be this way.
The real funny thing is I never talk about this stuff, but for what ever reason felt like running it up the flag pole with you guys.
I have posted way more on this than I ever intended to,so I'm done.
I can't even remember what got me going or what this thread was about to begein with.

I am a Christian and agree with most of what you said. I am not a Catholic though.
An interesting post but jumping too far up the ladder maybe. If you don't believe that the Bible is the word of God then what it says is nonsense to you. Before getting into the particulars of angels, demons and the like you need to have good reason to take this stuff seriously.
I was an atheist until about the age of twenty. A proper one, I used to argue with RE teachers and give them books an stuff. I still remember the stunned shock I felt when I realised this old book called the bible was exactly what it claimed to be.
Explaining what you believe is interesting. Explaining why is more important though.

Interesting :) I was born Catholic but i guess you'd call me a total athiest now:)
You're a total Atheist now.;)
What interests me about religion vs atheism is that it seems to boil down to an argument between it all being noughts and ones, atoms and molecules, or an all powerfull, all seeing, old, bearded man in white robes sat on a cloud - 'He who created it All'. That is the idea of God that Richard Dworkins so likes to set up and knock down (read his book 'The God Delusion' it's a great cure for insomia)
That polarised argument is what creates atheists IMHO. The truth of the matter is , for me, undoubtably much stranger and much more fantastic than we are able to imagine.
I guess you'd call me a total atheist now

I used to read books by the likes of Bertrand Russell and think them very clever. Going over them again later one realises they're rubbish. People like Dawkins don't even understand the basics of Christianity. They knock down a completely wrong Christianity because it's one they've made up.

There is an art, it says, or rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss... :smoking:
The Bible, it’s a good book, but then again so are a great many other religious texts.
It just seems a shame that people spend more time fighting over which is the best book and true faith, rather than reading them and then living there lives according to the teachings.
I’m an agnostic and when you lot have finished killing each other in the name of your particular gods, I’ll check out the results and make my mind up then ;)
