Going to be uncomfortably warm again today. Hopefully the last day.
Anita's been going mad buying fans for everywhere - the lounge, bedroom (one each), other two bedrooms, one each for her sons and two for her dad (because they're not able to buy their own apparently).
This particular one we bought is a handy little item. Good price too.

7,200mAh(!) rechargeable battery. That doesn't seem right - my Makita power tools run on 5Ah battery. Still, it is pretty good, going for about 24 hours on a charge. I just need to find a way to strap it to my shoulder so it can sit there like a parrot.
Seems like it's the humidity today. 75% outside 73% inside. Sticky.
Forecast to fall off pretty rapidly this afternoon though.

Another household with various new fans delivered this week.
Every other product listed by online retailers under £500 that is labelled 'cooling' or 'aircon' is sold out.
Mental note for December to sort something out in time for next summer.

Yeah we say that every year :D
Now hit 26C indoors. Just mopped the kitchen floor so feeling it a bit now after that mild exertion.
Will be a pretty rapid drop-off in temperature after 2100hrs, it goes down to 16C overnight. Tomorrow max is 25C and Sunday is 20C.

Currently 30.5C indoors. I'm finding that even doing nothing is hard work. Sat/Sun can't come soon enough.
26.7 in here now (outside is 30C). Had to resort to putting the fan on. Bought it during a heatwave back in 1996. Think this is only the fourth time it's been in use. Closed the curtains over too as the sun's still on the front for another hour or so.
Already been the shop and done the floor so that's today's planned tasks accomplished. Now to do nothing except sit here motionless and drink pints of tea.

Hotter where you are than here. You're at 32.7C outside.

A sticky 222c here , having a bit of thunder and rain now
26.5C now so going down. Must be because I closed the curtains. Also the sun is almost off the front of the building.

An hour ago it was showing 31.3C. So I took it out into the garden where I sit under the Maple trees. Total shade there. Went up to 34.5C.
Update: it's suddenly become windy and I think I heard a bit of thunder. Yes I did, just did it again.

Well that thunder was the start of some interesting weather. Thunder continued without pause. Not like your horror film thunder and lightning, more a continuous flickering, like a dodgy fluorescent light. Then giant raindrops. Then giant hailstones. At least the wind had gone. No wait, it's come back, with reinforcements. Trying to blow the rain/hail through the open front door, which put paid to my grandstand view.
Seems to be stopped now, temps has gone down a couple of degrees.
Just been to collect daughter, temp gauge in the car settled down to 38c. Clouding over now, which is not in the forecast at all until midnight but there you go. Then we should get some rain before brightening up again. Then raining again tomorrow evening in time for the BBQ, but who knows!
Saying no chance of rain here until Saturday evening and even then it's only 30 percent chance.

Dry again after the thunder and rain
It reached 36°C here today, but inside the house it has been a comfortable 24°C.
The secret is close all window except one upstairs, and to draw the curtains on all windows on the side of the house facing the sun.
There has been the occasional thunderstorm heard in the distance, although nothing here as yet. At the moment it is a very pleasant 21C but it's going to rise to 29C later.

19C right now, heading for a maximum of 27C this afternoon. Indoor thermometer showing 27.4C and 50% humidity.
26.5C in here when I came down this morning, was like a Turkish brothel. Opened all the windows, now down to 23.4C and dropping. Humidity down to 59% and dropping.
Feels much cooler and fresher.
Tomorrow is a max of 21C so should be comfortable at the show. Week to follow is about the same.

Been an interesting 24 hours, thunder and very heavy rain plus a power cut from 23.30 for 4 hours or so, light rain and 18c now.
Sunny here, says it's 26C out, don't know about that. It's windy though.

Should see some rain tonight. And after a damp start, tomorrow should be dry and sunny at Cranage tomorrow. And with an expected max of 21C, that should make the trip in my aircon-less van tolerable. Still warm enough to enjoy a chilled outdoor pint with my beer buddy Firebottle though :)

Been raining overnight. Grey skies right now, and a fair bit cooler. Perfect for me.
20C, cloudless blue sky. Will reach a maximum of 26C which will be quite tolerable. :)
Those fortunate enough to be going to the North West Audio Show will enjoy a perfect 21C throughout most of the day. I'm quite envious - have a good show. We expect a full report of what you heard and saw. :)
woke up early as the heat in the bedroom was stifling. I can't sleep with the window open. Opened all doors and windows and it's much better now. Cool out with a bit of cloud cover. Showers forecast for next couple of hours, see if that actually happens.
Storm due around 14:00.
A high of 31°C forecast today. :)

Yes, have a great time anyone going, unfortunately yet again a show falls on a weekend I can’t do, not that I have a particularly hectic social calendar but the family does!
Weather similar, not too hot to put off the outside jobs I had hoped to avoid!

Dry so far and 16c
Just had to get out of the pool as it started to rain, with some very ominous looking dark clouds heading our way.
Severe thunderstorm warning has been issued.
The storm blew past, without really doing anything.
19 °C and raining.
A welcome change.
15C now, rising to a maximum of 24C later this afternoon and early evening. No rain forecast, so it is going to be a lovely day today.
So things to get done: do a little bit of shopping; get a haircut; wash the car, and if possible have a covid booster jab.
Dull here and 13C. Might make it to 20C later.

Sky here is not blue, not grey, just a uniform white. Should brighten up later this afternoon with a high of 20C.

Dry and 14c so far
18C, and partially cloudy. Will reach a maximum of 24C and will remain dry all day.
21°C, clear blue sky reaching 30°C maximum.
Sunny here but it won't last. Heavy rain due this afternoon, max of 18C.
Good to know that it's still summer in France!
0% of rain says the BBC, tell that to my washing!
To be fair it is brightening up now, 23c, and no more rain predicted...
No rain here, it was dull so went for my walk. Got about a third of the way and blazing sunshine appeared so it was a bit too hot to be walking especially up a steep hill. Still giving out rain but from 1500 onwards.
