Formica speakers [emoji1787]

Not sure what’s in them but I’m guessing Goodmans given that they came with a 1970’s Goodmans one ten and the cloth looks just like the cloth on the maxims .
Good ole Formica too

Sadly mate these only have Wharfedale drivers in them [emoji20]
3010 12” woofers ( worthless )
Purple dome tweeters
The mids are unmarked

The one ten receiver came in a cabinet with hidden drawers, inside the drawers were several tins of the old gramophone needles which say “ only use once “ I never knew that but it explains why there are hundreds in each tin .
Also inside the cabinet were 2 x 4 terabyte desktop hard drives ( I wonder what’s on those [emoji848])
And a Thorens TD150 Mk II

The speaker drive units are as model Dovedale III, were available as a kit set for a while too I believe.

TD150II is a lovely little turnable and vastly better sounding than most might imagine. I have one.

How much should I offer this for gents ?

The people who thought they’d buy my Croft for £350 will be ignored [emoji16]

original M75ED with NOS stylus that's tasty.

Seem to be forgotten now but still better than a lot of modern MM and MC.

Seen the decks going for £400 plus if that's a help.

Cheers mate , I’m not looking for anything near that [emoji1303]
Prices are all over the place but I doubt £400

I think you priced it about right, although I anticipate values zooming up soon and that looks a very nice example. Worth hanging onto if you fancy trying one.

Where?

A scan of recent eBay sold items suggests £100-£150 for a Mk2 with original arm in working order in a plinth. They only seem to head up to £300+ if they have an SME fitted.

I sold mine with a nice custom plinth for about £180 in an eBay auction collection only but that was a few years ago.

Ah, yes good old Audio Gold.

Smashing bunch of people but, trust me, they have a specialist London buying market - divide by two for actual value!!

I wasn’t meaning to rain on anyone’s parade, incidentally - just didn’t want Andy to get his hopes up.

No worries mate , it’ll take me an hour to knock up a nice plinth and it owes me very little

All I said is that I've seen them going for £400 plus, not that you can't get them cheaper.

They've put their prices up since I last looked!
