The rain started every time I went out into the garden yesterday, about five instances so I gave up!
Now 24C. I'm in town and everyone seems to be wandering around in shorts and a T shirt. Think I might have to remove my tie!

Did rain during the night, but none this morning. Mix of cloud and sunshine. Could be worse, I could be in Morecambe - which is where Anita and granddaughter are now until Wednesday.
Meals for the next three days made and plated. All I have to decide is which of her most hated records I should play first :) And what I should make for my tea on day four - I might just go with my signature dish (beans and egg on toast), or maybe go to the chippy.
Four days - that's enough time to become semi-feral.

Wet and horrible - though slightly less of a complete downpour than yesterday. Getting colder, and the sun has retreated completely.
I am happy I am in holiday in Brittany. Last week it was 42 degrees C in Toulouse.
Too hot to be comfortable. Here, we had a barmy 27 degrees C. Much cooler today, with mixed weather.

Much appreciated Grant, but what does it taste like? I like to harvest the biscuit crumbs every couple of days, makes a nice snack. But mixed with chain oil they taste awful.
But like with my Crocs I wouldn't venture further than the end of the drive. Anita's youngest uses this on his beard:

lol... none of it is really. ive tried that wax its not great, but i prefer au naturale... bar an occasional oil change lol

A mild winter would be nice, especially with energy costs as they are. But it's the long hours of darkness that do my head in, and they're never going to change.
We'll be spending next weekend in a tent, so some decent weather for that would be most welcome.

Well the day turned out reasonably decent, so I took my recently assembled eBike out for a little whizz round. It goes well! :)
It's just a cheap old Apollo with a few quid's worth of conversion kit thrown on it. It was actually a nice riding little bike beforehand. Must dig out some trigger shifters for it, I hate grip shifters.

Got up to 17C, cool but perfect for gardening.
was quite mild here in the end but we only had about ten minutes of watery sunshine, dull the rest of the day.

Spent much of this afternoon in not-so-sunny Morecambe, which was a bit chillier than I expected - I think I was the only bloke going round in a t shirt. Most other folk were wearing cagoules/sweatshirts/hoodies, and for some reason shorts too :scratch:
We visited the town in the spring, and found it to be nicer than we expected. Now I know the reason - it looks a lot better without people in it.

I think it's not raining right now, but looks as though it could be a bit damp later on. Temperatures - not great - up to 15C and there is clearly some wind judging by the movements of the trees.
not windy today but been a bit chilly and rained most of the day. Bit of weak sunshine since about 1630 this afternoon.

After a very wet start and a couple of mid morning showers the day has been dry and mostly sunny. Got to 19C, which in my book is t shirt weather. Tomorrow looks like it'll follow the same pattern, but a bit cooler.

Although modern tents are a lot better than what we had as youths - which was basically surplus from WW2. Draughty and prone to collapse in anything stronger than a gentle breeze.
Those modern ones at least you can zip them up and get a bit of a warm fug going.

I did a few when I was at school, mostly in northern France. One time it rained non-stop for a week. Of course the activities, mostly ten to fifteen mile hikes, went on as planned.
we got told get your wet kit as dry as you can by putting it in your sleeping bag with you at night, and wear it for next days outing even though it's still damp since your going to get wet anyway. Keep the rest dry to change into when you get back.
Ofc some youths wouldn't listen as they didn't want to put on damp clothes in the morning. So they put on their dry stuff, went out, got soaked, and then had nothing dry to change into for the rest of the week. You don't forget those lessons.

Never been much in the way of big names. This year Toyah and a shitload of local and tribute bands. Good fun though.

Rain seems to have set in again. However the wind has died down.
chilly, windy and raining most of the day, sun came out about 1700 so did have a fairly pleasant walk home.
Summer never really happened in UK this year did it?
we had one really warm day here. By that I mean over 20C for any length of time.
This month has felt more like September. Or even October.

rubbish again today, really cold this morning, my breath was fogging.
Tomorrow looks amazingly good, no rain, no wind at all, 20C and sunny spells.
Looks good all next week too, except the high winds come back on Tuesday.

Pissed down the entire morning and afternoon, so me and doggo had to get a taxi into town, after coffee, cake and reading, rain had stopped ,so we walked home along seafront. Be thankful for small mercies!
