still 22c here and sunny... still its better than yesterday.
Yes, yesterday and Monday were a bit silly.
Why is it when we have a very hot day in summer it's blamed on 'global warming' but when we have a bitterly cold day in winter no-one is saying that it's down to 'global cooling'?

The global warming won't be completely gone, it's just flown south for the winter. It becomes the Aussies' problem.
Mrs. P was experiencing some global cooling today, that much was obvious. I told her to put a bra on.

I'm with you on the mash Lawrence. Unfortunately I'm the only one in this house who likes mash, so... But Anita often does bangers & mash, with Cumberland sausages just for me. And she cuts the bangers in two and sticks them into the mash, and calls it a hedgehog :)Nice [emoji4]
I always think I prefer roasties but when I go to the Toby carvery and get 50/50 I always run out of mash first and have a few roasties left to deal with at the end.

Toby Carvery mash is great. Perfect with their gravy. I haven't been to one in about 3 years. Our local one was taken over by some other pub chain, but there is another a few miles away. Last time I went there they had something called "oiseau sans tete", or something like that. I think it was just chicken wrapped in bacon, but really good. Whenever we've driven past, the car park is always full.

Temperature today suits me so I've been doing a bit. Cut the grass, cleaned the loo and walked the pooch so far. When the sun moves round and gives me some shade, I'll be in the garden tinkering with the bicycles. :)

been a nice day with sensible(for me) temps and a cooling breeze too. bright and sunny now again and about 16c
we had about 5 minutes of rain, that fine stuff that soaks you through, barely got the ground wet.

We did have a shitload of rain in the morning and again in the night, which was badly needed. I can see some fields from the window in my office and I watched them turn from brown to green over the course of the morning.

No, I don't work weekends, not done that in years. Don't mind it though, having a day off on a week day can be pretty useful, banks are open, shops are not as busy.
Since I don't have a social life I wouldn't be missing out on anything working Saturday and Sunday.

Me too, I had to knock my social life on the head years ago, when recovering from it was taking till Tuesday. Just occasionally I think 'balls to it' but I always pay afterwards.

In my old job (20+ years ago), we used to finish at 1.15pm on Fridays, which was dead handy for getting stuff done and freeing up the weekend. Being self-employed these days I could easily go back to a similar set up, but I don't. Because I'm the crappest boss I've ever had :(

What you need to do is arrange a meeting with yourself to define new boundaries. Don't let yourself schedule it in your lunch hour, it should be held on the work's time.
Depending on that goes you could either give yourself a promotion and a pay rise or issue yourself with a formal written warning.
....or sack yourself for no reason, hence allowing you to sue yourself's insurance company for hurt feelings etc. could make a bomb.;)

20C right now, bright but not sunny. That's warm enough for me, if that wind drops. A new car boot sale starts up at Chorley FC's ground tomorrow, hoping it stays dry for that.
That grass is a lot greener than anything in the UK Roy! Took the dog for a walk earlier to some local heathland and was expecting lions and rhinos to appear!
grass is fairly green here tbh. not been as hot as yours tho. roses have been thriving too.

Dull today - around 20C. Weather warnings of thunderstorms and rain later. There seems to have been a decent amount of rain late last night and into the early morning, so at least the garden may improve, though it looks as though we may have dull days for a while now. Boring!
overcast and 18c... was wet overnight, although not that much.
An hour later still no rain, sun still trying to come out properly. Just had second breakfast.
27.5C yesterday, 28.5C today with an occasional breeze.
Had some rain here now, the fine stuff. Of course it coincided with me going down the shop for bog roll. Stopped now that I'm back in the house.
Still feels quite warm out even though it's only 18C but humidity is at 91%

Just had an hour at the Mid-Suffolk Show ground, to catch the tail end of the American car show there today, 29c and sunny spells but a fair breeze to keep things fresh. Won’t take the dog out until it’s almost dusk, though it looks like it won’t drop below 24c then, and lowest of 17c in the early hours.
a bit brighter here at moment.. up to 19c too.. humidity is about 80% tho so feels sticky

Sorry, no I didn’t- highlight for me was a blue with white stripes ’72 Dodge Challenger- the Charger always gets the attention (Dukes of Hazard?) but a proper Challenger is hard to beat. Also a lovely red and white C1 Corvette.

28.5C, overcast. With an occasional breeze it's quite pleasant. Felt a couple of spots of rain just now, so things could turn out to be a bit variable.
There are rumours the Cranford fire was started deliberately. If they find the culprit they should give them a prison sentence; maybe that would knock some sense ito them, as well as offering a warning to other would-be arsonists.
Rained off and on here all day. Heavy overcast, strong breeze, chilly, been crap really.

A deer walked through the garden not too long ago - maybe it was going to nibble at the small trees we planted.

Of course, there's the solution, right there. I do have a nasty cough right now, the remnants of a horrible head cold. That should help with the social distancing.

If you've not had it, continue to avoid it and wear masks where appropriate. Covid also provided an opportunity to learn a lot of new stuff I didn't really know before.
Re the weather - can see shadows today so looking good for now. Not supposed to be particularly good or bright - but then the weather forecasts often get it wrong. Could rain - and could become duller - but right now it's OK.

You can and I did and the symptoms are distinctive meaning there's no mistaking something else for it, so it wasn't flu or a cold. Second time was less frightful, but still grim.

Went to Burger King. My god that was miserable. Manned by Filipino staff who look like they bitterly regret not stopping in the Philippines. £5.99 for a double cheeseburger! They should re-name it 'Burger Rob-Dogs.'
Had a walk back down the Trent & Mersey. Used to be my walk home from work years ago. Of course back then it was still the original dirt towpath that came with the canal. Post industrial dereliction on either side and you could have a quiet journey with just the ducks for company.
Now it's all paved and lit and thronged by dog walkers, children, cyclists who think they are competing for gold at the velodrome, and other human plagues of the 21st century.

Had a walk back down the Trent & Mersey. Used to be my walk home from work years ago. Of course back then it was still the dirt towpath that came with the canal, post industrial dereliction on either side and you could have a quiet journey with just the ducks for company.
Now it's all paved and lit and thronged by dog walkers, children, cyclists who think they are competing for gold at the velodrome, and other human plagues of the 21st century.
Was quiet today though, must be the rain keeping them in. No ducks either though, you wouldn't think a bit of rain would bother them.
it'll be the people(ie, morons) the ducks will be avoiding. we had a nice walk/cycle path here. was reall country stuff even tho most of it was tarrred. it had been a railway years ago.. then they decided to rebuild railway and the walk is changed. has no soul now

there used to be a 'Loop Line' here that linked all the towns but some genius decided to rip it all out back in the 1960s. Where it used to run are now 'Greenways' which basically means where people take their dogs to shit.

Many have indeed been turned into walks and cycle tracks - which is OK if they really aren't needed, but in some areas it has been a real pain - and reverting back to railway or light tram use might make a lot of sense.

train line did so well it was extended and goes now from glasgow to edinburgh. was on it a few times until i got really disabled. now its too much of a stretch for me really. walking isnt my strong point and they rarely have any staff to help you set a scooter on etc, or just tell you to piss off and the ramp doesnt work. same with the busses. so without my car im stuffed..
Bought some aftershave - Kouros. The bird asks me if I'd had trouble finding it. I apologised that my taste in cologne was stuck in the 1980s. She laughed and said 'We still sell loads of it.'

well, he was a pubescent boy when he first bought it; well maybe?:D i don't use aftershave in general. I do use Geo F Trumpers coral skin food tho...:ner:

I've never in my life bought aftershave, but had it bought for me at Christmas. The last one (something expensive) about 15 years ago. It'll be in the bedroom somewhere, though by now it probably smells like a Greek pubescent boy.

Palios = 'Old' as opposed to Kouros = 'Young'
Although looking it up I see that the word 'Kouros' is actually specific to a type of Greek statue.

Quite sunny now - a bit cool - maybe 15-17C but should get up to 19C or so by the afternoon. Looks as though it might be a pleasant day.
a bit brighter here, although not much, at least i can put the light off. up to 14c
very humid here with fine rain. Humidity 65% in my living room which is a new record.
Sun was trying to come though the cloud earlier but seems to have given up now.

Humidity still high, looked at the forecast and humidity is going to be through the roof all week.
23.5C, windy, overcast and threatening to rain.
Only 29 today and not too bright. Just been for a ‘swim’ in the Caribbean Sea (for ‘swim’ read seaweed fight with my partner’s grandson)
