Good evening all. My name is Gary but prefer to be call chezi (cheesy) or chz as most folks call me. I live in Fife and I have an admition....... I'm crap at spelling , and.........

I am a vinyl obsessive , I have quite a substantial collection spanning the late 70's till now , around 3000 albums and a couple of hundred punk and ska 7 and 12" singles. Also around 2000 cd's.

I have been "into" music and music reproduction since a tender age of 11yrs old starting with an old radiogram my gran was getting rid of , this led to a Hitachi music centre then a JVC separates system from Comet ( remember them ??):)

Once I started work the hobby and upgrading went ballistic , I always stuck with vinyl even when everyone was flogging their collections.

I now have a Systemdek 3D Signature TT sporting an AudioOrigami PU7 in chrome 12" form with low profile headshell holding a new EMT hsd 006 as my Dynavector XX-2 has seen over 2000hrs use in just over 2 years and has seen better days. TT is wired into a Primare R35 phonostage . Digital duty is carried out by a Primare DVD player until I get round to having my Primare 30.2 cdp fixed. This is all wired into an Ayon Spirit V valve amp that pours sweet sweet music through a pair of ART Emotion speakers , heavily modified with Kondo wires and a SEAS Excel T29D001 Diamond tweeters.

I'm not "big" on cables and use Chord and hand made cryo silver interconnects and Audioquest speaker cable from the mid eighties so due to a misspent life I have no recollection of the name/number but it's dark blue with around a dozen solid core wires inside.
What I do like is isolation products and use a mixture of hand made , I'm a CNC Turner to trade , and I have just started an obsession with IsoAcoustics Iso pucks as they are reasonably priced and work well. All electrics except TT are plugged into an Isotek minisub.

The AV side is taken care with a Marantz SR7007 receiver , Marantz UD7007 blu-ray player into a Sony VPL HW55ES onto a 96" screen , Art Emotions double as front speakers with a Monitor Audio Gold series centre and Quad 11L for rears. This is all separate from my HiFi.

My missus has a Naim Muso running Tidal HiFi. :eyebrows:

I also have a fetish for motorcycles and own a VFR800fi 1999 , and a 2005 Honda CBR1000rr Fireblade , I'm 57 and do not own a car licence so motorcycles is my only mode of transport.

I could go on but my personal life reads like Trainspotting so I won't bore you to death with any of that guff.

Welcome to the forum Chz! Sounds like you have a great music collection! I’m the same, never gave up on vinyl, still have several hundred albums I would guess, I gave up counting CDs but 5k+ though they are rarely played as all digitised to FLAC. (My 13 year old daughter plays them and my records more than I do these days!)

What other types of music do you like? You’ll find fans of almost everything here, and a fair few motorcycle owners, myself included. And we do appear to like watches, food, drinking and even some hi-fi sometimes!

Hope you enjoy AoS, have a look around and get stuck in!

Welcome to AoS Chezi.

Wow, 5,000 albums and 2,000 CDs - that's some collection! I'm a big fan of EMT cartridges, but have never used an HSD6 cartridge, so I'm quite envious.

As Alex has mentioned, our Members here have an interest in many other things apart from music, so I am sure you will find something here to interest you.

Once again welcome
Barry

(BTW - I note you admit to be "crap at spelling", yet there are no spelling mistakes in your introduction. Is this an excuse for times when you may use a laptop that doesn't have a built-in spellchecker? ;) )

Hi Gary. Welcome to AOS.

Take a look around the site, it's a goldmine of information. You'll find sections on every aspect of Hi-Fi and there is a great interest in music too.

We also have a 'buying and selling' area. Anyway, just join in the chat, everybody is friendly.

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.
