18C, raining and grey overcast. I'm not complaining, it suits me way better than the recent ridiculous heat!
I like weather I don't have to think about (I like people the same way :)).
Does that include women?;)

Dry and sunny so far but could get some rain starting around 1.30pm. Hope so as not had much this month, only about 6mm. Nothing much forecast for the next week after today. Not cold about 22C. Will be windy on Friday.
sun nearly broke through here, but it resisted the temptation.
Very rainy all morning.
Mostly like that here too - lovely. especially when it's still 20C!:)
Marco.
yes, still pleasantly warm.
1c and overcast.. was a touch of sun but it got scooped by cloud pdq. humidity a bit better at 70%+
edit..lol 16c

[emoji848] don’t recall saying that last bit and as far as I know Charlie doesn’t offer that service?
He does if you give him a knowing wink;):eyebrows:
Marco.
Yes, and a tickle in a certain place.
Marco.
well still bright but overcast. fairly warm at 18c, but breezy. seen worse tho and at least humidity is down a bit
Poor start here but the sun is out now, albeit weakly.
Not much of August left, hopefully we will have an Indian Summer in September. Then back to the really crappy weather and perpetual darkness for five months.
Pretty decent here, sun's out in between light showers, and 20C. I want to try and get the grass cut, as with the recent rain and humidity it's been growing like buggery! Should manage it later.
I like September, as a month, but personally I'm looking forward to autumn, as it's my favourite season, and the chance to light the wood burner again and get the house all nice and cosy for winter, which is really what it lends itself to...:)
Dark nights don't bother me one iota... I certainly shan't miss the searing heat of 30C+ days, and subsequently sleepless nights (because of the heat), that's for sure!!
Marco.
Gone very dark here, can hardly see the keyboard. We might be in for some nasty weather. Or a big asteroid is about to land on us like in 'Starship Troopers.'
Sun is back out again now, we just got a shower. Sky is still battleship grey to the south though.

Not yet, but it's very high up on my 'wants' list. I predict that I'll be starting a trend in Preston this winter, much like the popularity of cossack hats in Bamber Bridge 30 years ago, which is only known to me, and the good people of Bamber Bridge.

There was obviously a lot of rain overnight, as the road outside is flooded. It was dry when I got up, but it's now pouring down.
Rained all night here, seems to have stopped for the moment. Windy too. Doesn't look much like August out there.

It's nicer when they're hot and sweaty:D

In a nutshell, peeing it down ...........
Yesh and I love it!:D
Not missing the searing heat we had at all, *but* I don't mind if it gets a little warmer (and drier), say up to a max of 20C. Other than that, bring on autumn!:carrot:

I thought autumn was already here, the cat's been chasing leaves around the garden. She needs to go to Specsavers.
Starts on 22nd September, matey! Look for the lovely russet colours on the trees, and the conkers falling:)
Marco.
my conkers fell when i was a kid;)
Just started hissing down here
rained all night again.. was a lot of flooding in the county which is rare. cars completely submerged etc.

Looks like some seriously crap weather will arrive in the next few days, once we are subjected to the fallout from hurricane Laura. I know the Express tends to sensationalise everything, but this could well be accurate.

Once had an amusing time firing conkers at the top of a huge beech tree with our catapults and seeing the confused looks on the faces of people walking under it. Simple things, and all that :)
Loch fyne.. Be a breeze I think but not gusty
Enjoy your hols, mate. Don't think the midges will be too much of a problem, as it won't be warm enough. Hope you get some sort of decent weather, though. The scenery will be stunning!
Are you camping?:)

Nah, we thought we'd treat ourselves with the money that would have gone on a foreign holiday. I've even budgeted for cagoules and wellies :) Anita booked the hotel, I think it's called Cairndow Stagecoach Inn. Big double, with balcony and loch view. Just a few days of doing as little as we want.
I did think of taking my fishing gear, as I've fished out of Loch Fyne a couple of times before, but decided against it. After the long working hours recently, she deserves the full 'Piggurs Package'. She may well regret that.
Looks really nice, mate: https://www.cairndowinn.com/
Sounds great, so enjoy! Take some pics, and no, not of your 'stools'...:eyebrows:
They tell me that the peaty water makes them harder.

Remember Lindow Man, the preserved body found in a peat bog? My stools already look like him.

Yes rubbish weather for August. Some light rain, quite cool as well. They say it could be the coldest August bank holiday on record, last year was the hottest, certainly been a weird year.

You seem to have done a "good" job at predicting that August would be pretty bad. Any hope of a better September?
I can recall lovely days in September in my youth, but maybe I was imagining them.
lol.. expecting it to be fairly settled tbh.. similar to today.. but you never really know for sure. charts look ok
