Sorry Marco, turns out we don't have a thermometer or temperature measuring device in the house. The bedroom was fairly warm, but still cooler than outside.
The only temperature I can confirm for you from last night was the hot tub from its control display, which was 37.5 degC when we got in at 9pm! :D

had my overhead fan on at 2 all night.. i lay on covers in skegs and was fairly cool.... slept well. fortunately no one lives with me or they could have got a nasty shock :eyebrows:

Yes but why do folk act like lemmings and flock to the same places all the time? That's what causes the crowds! And why does knowing that they'll encounter such huge crowds not put them off from going there in the first place, like it would you or I?
Take today, for example, if we were in normal times, do you think I'd be taking the car out and driving to the most popular local seaside resorts, simply to encounter the inevitable? Of course not, I'd be heading to more out of the way locations I know from experience are liable to be much less crowded, if indeed crowed at all - and there are plenty of places like that if you know where to look.
It's called using your brain and not simply acting like a sheep!:doh:

I'm with you in that I wouldn't even try because I know that it would be packed and consequently be an absolutely awful experience. But, not everyone sees it that way.
Plus as a child I recall going a number of times for a day trip to the beach, or New Brighton lido, and it was always ram-packed with 'the great unwashed.' But when you are a child you don't care about that.

I will sleep naked without any covering if it is very hot. Though I do possess a couple of sets of pyjamas - I never wear them (they are there in case I ever have to go to hospital).
High humidity rather than high temperature makes sleep difficult for me.
Both for me, but particularly the latter. As I said, 17/18C indoors is when I'm most comfortable for sleeping:)
When it gets to the mid 20s, or higher, as I suspect it might tonight, then it's simply unbearable. And if it's like that, I'll be 'camping' outdoors!

Firstly, it depends where "we" are living in said country... In North Wales, for example, outside of Wrexham, it's certainly not densely populated - quite the opposite.
Consequently, there are little coves/secluded places around Colwyn Bay, for example, where we go (sometimes for picnics) where beaches are virtually empty, even on the hottest days during the summer, so having to mix with hordes of the 'great unwashed' is a non-issue - and we can get there within an hour:)
You just need to use a bit of imagination!
Also, you assume that having a leisurely drive (in a comfortable air-conditioned car) is a chore... Not so. The drive to our chosen destination (on scenic uncrowded roads), whilst listening to some quality choons, is all part of the fun!:cool:

I know, and each to his or her own, but the mentality still amazes (and also amuses) me. The overall experience would result in more stress than relaxation, that's for sure, so what's the point? I just don't get it:scratch:

It's been 34C for a while now. I have work to do in the garden, but I may leave it for today because of the heat.
I'd give it a miss, mate. It's WAY too warm! Not good for you. Try again tomorrow. Plus, the best time for working in the garden is early morning or later in the evening, when it's cooler:)

Is that air con or evaporative air cooler? If the latter make sure you've got ventilation as it can cause condensation.

It's not too bad now since I've been able to open the windows and doors downstairs and clear out some of the stuffy 'dead' air, and the rain falling now is freshening things up a little.

stayed fairly cool yesterday even tho it was warmest day of year here.. had a cross breeze from slightly ajar front and back doors and a fan pushing the fresh air at me... upstairs had a ceiling fan on all afternoon and at 3 overnight.. no sweating just stayed ok.. even got my stairlift serviced...
Good stuff, mate. I can't keep fans on all the time, as for me that makes things worse (blowing dust around, so you're breathing that in), same as air-con in the car, as the processed/artificial air fucks me up too (not healthy), so only use it in bursts.
The difference here is that for most of yesterday it was over 30C, and that's always a recipe for disaster for sleeping at night in our house.

Expected to wake up and find wetness and sogginess, but the temperature/heat must have evaporated all the moisture as it's been dry, humid and bright sunshine all day, since morning

Met office have now decided to cancel our thunderstorm and reschedule it to tomorrow morning. What a rip-off.
28.5C indoors - no idea what it is outside, probably just over 30C.
Been out in the car for a run and to do a bit of shopping. Forgot how hot the steering wheel can get when the car is left out in the sun. :doh: Must remember to cover it when parked.
You need some driving gloves.

It was the same last night until I put music on and it went up to 28c within a couple of hours. 100 watts class A just not really suitable for this sort of weather. I fancy a bit of music tonight but I'm going to have to use a different power amp I think. I don't think the weather has ever dictated my equipment choice before.

I've never like wearing driving gloves - unless they are the lace-up types, which are a bit of a 'faf' to use. It's a bit like using a condom - you can't really feel what's going on! :D
I agree with you regarding Class A amps. I have a pair of 25W true class A monoblocks that have a standing dissipation of 400W. Not surprisingly, I'm using my more efficient and cooler, Quad 510s with virtually no reduction of SQ.

400 feet of elevation makes a difference. But that is 24c indoors not outside. It's always a few degrees cooler in here than outside during the summer.
Don't know what the humidity is outside but in here it is 62%. Normally it is around 50%. 62 is well inside the 'comfortable' range though.
Lol... We'll have to disagree about "comfortable". I've no idea what the humidity level is here, as I've no way of measuring it, but's it feels VERY sticky - and sticky isn't comfortable!
Weather like this never makes me feel clean, but rather always wanting to go into the shower. as I can't stand feeling hot and sweaty, which is one of the things that make it distinctly UNCOMFORTABLE...
Anyway, thank goodness the temperatures are due to come down significantly tomorrow and into next week... The forecast for Sunday is a gorgeous 16C!:yay::D

Interestingly, it's now considerably cooler outside than it is inside the house, especially with the lovely wee breeze that's whipped up [fart-gas free], so I'm typing this whilst relaxing on the lounger in the backyard.
As soon as I open the back door of the house and step inside, you can feel the stuffy warm air hit you - somewhat like when you've spent hours travelling to a hot destination in an air-conditioned plane, then get out at the airport...:eek:
And that's without venturing upstairs! Not been there since Wednesday...
It just shows how much heat thick sandstone walls retain, after they've been baking in 30°C+, for over a day. I don't have the same problem in my old man's bungalow, down the road, which was built in the 1930s... His house has modern double-glazed UPVC windows and thick carpets throughout, but it's still cooler!

Can't remember what programme it was, probably not Panorama. The interview was many years ago - my memory lets me down all the time, but I always remember the important stuff :)

A change in the weather, quite blustery with some light rain. Feels a lot cooler than yesterday.
Rain started just as I was on my way back from the shop, got soaked. Thunderstorms now cancelled entirely. Rainy all day is the new forecast, max temp 18C

Anyway, it's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better now!! Nice fresh, cool air coming through the window, humidity feels way down on yesterday, and 17C, with the sun still out... MY kind of weather!!
It's still 22C indoors though, but that'll start to come down, as the bricks cool from the lower outside temperature, and tonight I can look forward to my normal 9 hours of undisturbed sleep!:yay:

Still to hit us here, and I hope we get it... It's 20C and a little sticky, but nowhere near like yesterday or the day before. Tomorrow's supposed to be cooler again though, which is welcomed:)
If only, when we get a hot summer's day, it would stay in the mid 20s, which for me, accompanied by just a little cool breeze, is perfect - and rather pleasant for being indoors or outdoors. No-one 'needs' to bake in 30C-odd degree heat. I've never understood the attraction, and for prolonged periods with high humidity, it's very unhealthy.

Still warm here around 20c strong wind but it more normal. Did not get much rain only about 3mm over the last few days. Forecast for next week is staying roughly the dame as today, no rain forecast.
I've got 19.7C with 56% humidity, and currently dry. Fresh and healthy weather:)

I know my mate's wife struggles with her weight a bit, but that's rather harsh. They were gonna visit today, but sacked it off due to the weather.
I now have all the necessary bits to get my bike on the road, but i'd have to do it on the drive as the garage is so full of other people's crap :( maybe next week

Btw, that's with no heating on whatsoever, just residual heat from the sun (when we had it). The outside temperature is only 13C!

Yes it depends where you live, my parents had the heating on nearly all year on the Lincolnshire coast. My last house in Essex was very warm in summer, did not usually have the heat on apart from November to February. This house which more open plan and cooler weather needs more heating, so more October to May. May last year was cold. Rarely gets over 25C here. If it gets below 16C in the living room I will probably put the heating on.
What would you rather though, that, or the 32C and 88% humidity we had here the other day?;)

Indeed, but I meant which would you rather, as the lesser of two evils: 32C, with high humidity (as I had to endure here the other day), or the weather you've got today?:)

Yes it depends where you live, my parents had the heating on nearly all year on the Lincolnshire coast. My last house in Essex was very warm in summer, did not usually have the heat on apart from November to February. This house which more open plan and cooler weather needs more heating, so more October to May. May last year was cold. Rarely gets over 25C here. If it gets below 16C in the living room I will probably put the heating on.
Yup, absolutely. Plus old people feel the cold more. One thing about being warm-blooded, such as I am, and one of the reasons why I feel the heat so much [always have nice warm hands, etc], is that you rarely feel cold, except when it *REALLY IS* cold. In that respect, I can wear t-shirts almost all year round, in or out - and you'll only see me with a jacket on in the depths of winter!:)

Another pissistanty wet day, and tomorrow looks to be the same. Just noticed it isn't Saturday any more, in fact it isn't June either :doh:
neighbours slabs are dry but mine are under water :D think its raining on me only

It would appear that because the July weather is so crap, we've decided to stick with "Crap weather for June" :)
Accident as there is a July.
