Is this weather an April Fool's joke ?
Quite dark, thick cloud and chilly. This time last week, I was tanning myself in the garden..:smoking:
Had a bit of rain earlier today, first time in a couple of weeks.
Same here... What we need is for the temp to get back up again the way it was, then we can all enjoy our gardens again and maybe even have a BBQ!
Plus, in my situation, not have to light the fire during the day:)

Sun's trying to come out, but pretty chilly. Keep meaning to go outside, but it's so much warmer in here. We've vowed to go for a walk tomorrow though. Definitely.

Went to Aldi but as the queue was round the block, we came home and went for a walk instead. Overcast and around 9 - 10c out there.
Strange... The supermarkets round here are dead. Must be a 'darn sarf' thing.

My Wife has been to Tesco twice, just after they opened and got in pretty well right away. We tried Aldi around 1330 today, just for some Humus and wine, so no biggie. If we needed a proper shop, we would have stayed.
Bout 7 degrees here feels lot less. Had to bring few sheep n lambs in that were born yesterday but they seem to be handling it.

black ones are just random only get an odd one each year. As for them being hereditary not that ive noticed.

Unfortunately no. Unless you breeding rare breed black sheep such as Black Welsh Mountain
Had a lamb the other year that had a near perfect ying yang on its face will post pic if i come across it again.
some folk are now using the black wool more as its not dyed.. but mostly they are not prized or so im told. I was told it is genetic but it needs both parents to be heterozygous for the black colour gene, and even then only about a 25% chance of a black lamb...
heterozygous means having both white and black gene while homozygous is only having the one white gene.

they had their own excersise yard with jumps etc.. was a small holding really.. about 8 acres. He usually kept a couple of pigs too. One of his neighbours had geese , ducks and hens so there was a bit of barter

Yeah good luck with that. People are getting fed up already. I've watched it getting busier and busier all week round by me . Monday it was like 'The Omega Man', today it's practically back to normal. Loads of traffic, loads of pedestrians.
Lots of fat blokes driving around in small cars for some reason. I suppose they're out hunting for food.
Totally different round here, then. Still very quiet, as folk are responsibly staying at home... Must be a lot of shamefully inconsiderate, insubordinate assholes near you then!;)
Sometimes 'people' just to need to learn to do what they're TOLD and like it, so I hope all those guilty of non-compliant behaviour get their asses royally fined and/or jailed. I'd love to laugh at them when it happens too, as this is life-threatening stuff, so they need to be MADE to be 'on message'.

It was piggin cold here this morning - went to Morrisons in just t shirt and thin jumper (yes Marco I was also wearing trousers), and the queue outside Morrisons didn't move for 40 minutes, due I think to them mistakenly letting too many in and having to get shut before letting more in.
Restrictions don't make a lot of sense - large tins of chopped tomatoes £1, half size tins 35p. So instead of two large tins I got 4 small. Checkout took one of them off me. Also got two tins of kidney beans, and had to give up one of those :(
Got a deal going with old couple next door. I get them some shopping when I go, in return they get extra red milk from their milkman for us, and we would tally up the difference weekly for a bank transfer. Neighbour was so happy that we managed to get everything on their list that they are insisting on covering their increased milk bill as a thankyou. They say they are saving on fuel costs or delivery costs. She was moved to shed a tear, God bless her :)
Always good to help others at this difficult time. We're doing the same, especially in terms of my dad, as I don't want him going out at all.
Btw, you should consider giving Aldi or Lidl a go, as they appear to be keeping better stocks [with currently no restrictions] than the 'mainstream' supermarkets. Queues are also rare, certainly around here.
We've just been to Lidl and got everything we wanted - even baked beans! There was only a tiny queue of four trolleys outside, while they were letting one out and one in, a system which wasn't in place last week, but there were no problems and it made for a relaxed shopping experience inside, as there weren't many in the store.
That's been the case now two weeks running, so I doubt it's a fluke. Conversely, anytime we go near Tesco, Asda, etc, it's pandemonium!:eek:

According to the forecast it isn't going to be sunny here tomorrow anyway, max of 17 degrees and a strong wind so won't be that pleasant. Better than last week though when it was quite chilly out.
Humidity is very low, only 47% in my living room right now.
its about 8c here but feels a lot colder.. Dont see a huge amount of folk going anywhere hopefully..
Had kids flinging big bangers into closes last night about 1 am.. wankers need deballing

Yeah, I've had a look. Forecast unbroken sunshine here till 2pm with a high of 18C. I'll believe it when I see it, but got the sun loungers on standby :)

Did you see my post on not always going to Morrisons, etc, and to try Aldi or Lid instead (for the greater chance of finding stocked shelves and less queues)? Trust me mate, they sell some bloody good stuff, so you won't miss out on the quality of proper fresh food (not brand-named other bollox), and it's often cheaper, too!
You know how much we're into our food, so we wouldn't shop there if it wasn't worth it:)

Lol, honestly that is interesting. For me, it's funny how you're far from bone idle when it comes to working, but when it comes to play, it's different. I've always been predisposed to expending more energy enjoying myself...:eyebrows: And that goes for spoiling our guests when they visit, or Del when we're on our own.

The temperature has hit 19C outside, but just too windy for my liking. Nothing out there is going to stay where you left it. With the exception of Mrs. P's latest creation, another Victoria sponge, which although nice enough, you could use to line divers' boots :( Maybe tomorrow - doesn't matter really, every day is just like Sunday.
I have been out in the garden for a few hours - grass cutting and wood preserver on the playhouse, lovely clear blue skies, very slight breeze and face beginning to feel like I may be starting to tan!
Push bike ride later.
Yes, I too have been out putting wood preserver on one run of fence panels. No need to cut the grass - did it a couple of days ago.

Pre-lunch aperitifs (Negroni cocktails) and a starter of cured Italian cold meats, with feta-stuffed peppers and red-hot chillies, plus stuffed vine leaves, all from Lidl, and absolutely superb!
Followed by homemade spicy chicken kebabs and Welsh lamb with mint kebabs, cooked on the BBQ, with a selection of Del's salad 'specials', all washed down with a rather lovely bottle of Vacqueyras!

Lol, and cheers! Yes, antipasto in Italian. You don't really pluralise it. Well, no part of that was homemade. It was all bought from Lidl, which is why I keep banging on about the place!:D
One of the best things they sell is their Italian and German cold meat selections, pickles and antipasto. It's truly top-notch and knocks anything that Waitrose, or any other UK supermarket, sells into a cocked hat - at half the price!:)

Anita doesn't just make cakes, she does all the cooking. The baking is just an extra thing she's took up this last few days for something to do. She plans to make some smaller cakes tomorrow, and my plan is to spray paint them silver, drill a hole in the bottoms and sell them as record clamps - God knows I could do with an alternative income to tide us over till June :)
Picnic didn't happen today, weather wasn't to our liking what with all the wind. Looks nice and warm at your gaff, but you're helped by having that semi-enclosed space by the back door for your table etc. We are a lot more open and exposed here, so I'll wait for a more settled day (prob Tuesday).
Gorgeous day here in mid Suffolk, tidying the house this morning then our one piece of daily exercise round the fields and back through the village. First barbecue of the year (in fact first one since we moved here late September) and then lit the Chimnea to toast marshmallows and daughter got her telescope out to look at the moon and stars. Amazingly mild evening for April. Now back inside and kids safely tucked up in bed. The world is a very worrying place at the moment, just trying to take it a day at a time and make the most of every one. Stay safe everyone.

No not really, it says on it Samsung Notebook HomeSync X4 Quad-Core, none of which means anything to me. I didn't know you could just put a new battery in it, so that's good, good enough to put it near the bottom of my list, nudging new bags for my work hoover into last place :)
You should be able to, as long as the laptop itself hasn't been discontinued. Basically, batteries 'tire' after having been charged and recharged a certain number of times, and then get to a point where they no longer hold their charge properly, which seems to be what yours is doing.

times are tight at mo finance wise for most, especially with the uncertainty of how long this goes on and if you still have a job at end of it. Only wise to spend only on essentials. My laptop is always on mains and in fact hasnt a battery up it as its not charging them.. some damn windows issue i cant fix:steam:

Tomorrow set to be better still I think. So may even eat outside too :)

You get pretty visible vapour trails at night (not that there's much air traffic now) and linear cloud formations, well illuminated by moonlight.

There's ivy growing out of control on an adjacent wall. Not mine, but if I don't chop it down nobody else will bother. I weed killered it a couple of days ago, so after it's chopped down the roots will die now.

Another fabulous day here in sunny Wrexham! Currently just a shade under 21C, largely blue skies, with hardly a breath of wind...
Just cut the grass again and helped Del do some digging and clearing of weeds, in preparation for an extensive vegetable and potato patch we're putting in our garden. One thing this CV situation has taught us, is in future to be more self-sufficient!! The key will be to rely on no other fucker, as much as is humanly possible;)
We'll also be looking to have solar panels installed in our outbuilding, and various other measures taken, in order to ensure our future food and energy sustainability.
Anyway, a BBQ beckons later, and a lovely piece of aged Welsh fillet steak, washed down with a nice bottle of Barolo!:cheers:

Gorgeous day, spent most of it cutting the front hedge and tidying up the drive and then the front lawns. A walk over the fields, then BBQ again. Hoping to cut back lawn tomorrow, once the Easter Egg hunt is done (just finished hiding them all, hope the kids find them as at past midnight and after several drinks there's zero chance I'll remember where they all are in the morning!)

Forecast is sunny all week here. We had a bit of rain yesterday but not much.
From one extreme to the other. From fields too wet to ride on to bone dry in little time. Ground maintenance well in advance of usual all fields rolled, starting on mowing some rushes now. Waiting on a bit of rain so we can get some till on land and get grass growing.
Looks like it's going to be another lovely day, with the sun splitting the skies, and set to be like for most of the week! Thursday is predicted to be the highlight, with temps up to 21C:cool:

Nice one, but that wind's always the killer for you, mate... Pity. Even when we're exposed here, out on the lawn where there's very little shelter, the wind's still quite warm. Anyway, hopefully you'll get some proper heat soon!:)

we usually have a westerly tbh and that is a bit warmer but we have been stuck with this easterly for some time now. also the east is the side of my back door so even standing or sitting there you get cold.. with a west one you can stand outside and not get wet in rain:eyebrows:

Yes, I've got a pair of Calvin Klein's stood up in the corner of the bedroom I've been putting off tackling as they may require input from an angle grinder

13c at the moment nice but there is a bit of a breeze.
Just been out and cut the grass, now sweating like a pig! Time to cool down, have a wash, then enjoy some lunch al fresco:cool:
Today it'll be some antipasto (cold cured meats and pickles), followed by Papparedelle al Ragu, with Del's homemade sauce, washed down with a nice bottle of Chianti:)

Mine needs doing again too. It was cut a couple of weeks ago, but I'm waiting for a new mower blade to arrive (well that's my excuse :)).
I'm religious with mine and keep it as short as possible, not just because it looks nice, but because if I allow it to grow too long then it becomes too big a job to cut it, as we have a fairly big lawn!:)
In that respect, when the grass is short, I can do the lawn (with a petrol mower) in around 35 mins, and when it's long double that!!

Similar here. It's forecast to get up to 18C later, so the barbie will be out again:eyebrows: Thursday is set to be the warmest, at 21C, but the whole week should be lovely. Just be grateful that we both (you particularly) have a nice outdoor space to enjoy at this time:)
