I thought i would give buying New vinyl one last chance. Was it a waste of time?

ofc it was, steaming hot pile of cack. I know full well that You DO NOT create a Gate fold sleeve in the way that these comedians think you do these days. The albums i intended buying were originally single sleeve which technically you cannot go wrong & technically i should have been at least happy with. But o no some birk in the decision department thought it an intelligent move to make them in Gate folds, wasting cardboard & Profit in doing so.

Believe me i was fuming at the utter crap that they think is acceptable, i dont want JUNK so never even bothered breaking the cellophane to look at the record.

Look at that, for god sake. & look how stupidlty wide the spine is, near enough 3/8" wide.. takes the space of three single sleeves width... & to finish off the shrink wrap is that tight its distorting the cover. The ends are bending in because of the tightness.

I own vinyl pressings that I purchased new in the 60s and 70s that are still ''like new''. I have also purchased some new records and some are warped (most), noisy and very disappointing. It's bollocks isn't it?

Well John you can compare a 70's Gate Fold to a new Gate Fold and realise that i am not moaning for the sake of it.. I think they started this shite way of making them in the mid 80's.

The gate fold sleeve you show would have been used in the past for a double LP.

Yes but not that wide, believe me the picture makes it look not too bulky. The annoying thing is it was never a gate fold.
